“Charming and relaxing!!”
Reviewed 8 July 2012

We recently stayed at this charming inn two nights prior to July 4th. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The inn is close to Ludlow, Quechee, Killington and Weston. Our room was nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi was spacious. Breakfast was very good and dinner was superb!. The staff is very nice and helpful. Lawrence and Neil are the best hosts. We will stay there again!

My husband and I got married at Echo Lake Inn and rented the Inn for the weekend. The food, service, location, and absolutely everything was beyond perfect and wonderful! My family and friends are in love with the Inn and want to go back to visit- and we definitely will too! The Innkeeper Laurence was amazing- as was the rest of the staff (especially Neil too- ask for him!!!)- we felt like celebrities all weekend! The front porch was the place to be too- we spent most of the weekend there with everyone we know and love. It was so perfect and I couldn't be happier about the entire experience!

Room Tip: We were given a luxury king suite which has a private entrance to the porch which was nice, and boas...

Echo Lake Inn is a wonderfully historic place to stay - regardless of the season - and not far from fabled Woodstock, Vermont.

The authentic accommodations are a delight, and the food is truly delicious. However, the very best thing about this Inn is the Staff. They are all superb in every sense of the word. Outstanding customer service is their mantra, which they live and breathe. I cannot recommend Echo Lake highly enough.

Room Tip: Talk to the Owner and General Manager, Lawrence Jeffrey, who can best advise you depending on your n...

We stayed at the Echo Lake over President's Day Holiday in the family suite. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the staff was fantastic. Our only improvement we would want to see, would be that the common areas- some of the furniture and pool table, could be updated- otherwise we think this is a fantastic inn. We loved the public living room- fire place, couches- perfect for a night of board games after skiing. And, it was truly wonderful to have the restaurant in house to dine and have delicious warm apple cider and home made bread pudding by the fire while we played games! Breakfast was very good. The family suite was nice, we liked how the bathroom connected our rooms. We did think the kids room could use a little updating as well. Overall, a great time had by all!

Room Tip: In the family suite, the adult room is right by the stairs, so it was a little noisy as guests were...

We stayed here during a recent 3-night getaway up to Okemo for skiing. We found the inn to be just as advertised in terms of being basic accommodations with a family-run, B&B charm. There is a public living room area with a fireplace that we found quite cozy for enjoying some drinks and relaxing. The room was basic and not very spacious; the shower was small and as basic as they get, but the hot water/pressure was adequate. We spent very little time in the room; this is the sort of thing we were looking for in a hotel. We liked that drinks were served in the bar area, and the hosts were quite friendly. We had no idea of the history of this place, and that was quite a pleasant surprise. It is one of the oldest hotels in the country; Thomas Edison, Firestone, and Ford were all previous guests (pictures and stories from the hosts detail it). Overall, very satisfied. The complimentary breakfast is offered in a more formal fashion, with waitstaff; good and friendly service. The Inn is quite close to Okemo and Ludlow shops/restaurants. Only thing to watch out for is that the address listed on the website is actually different from where the Inn is located. We drove up to an empty lot and then found the hotel a few miles away as we were able to locate the correct address per our GPS. Overall, a good experience. This was priced higher than similar ski accommodations we'd had in Tahoe before, but the price comparison in the VT area showed that this was good value for what we go. We'd return.

We booked the Vermont Ski and Stay Special at the Echo Lake. The rooms are spotless, the food is very good and the price is right. The drive to Okemo is less than ten minutes. We even spotted an eagle flying over the lake on the way home from the mountain! The inn was built in 1840 and retains the Vermont charm most folks are looking for when they come to New England.

Lawrence and his son were exceptional hosts. It was a very warm atmosphere and it was also child friendly. After skiing we sat by the fireplace and played games. After dinner we were served dessert in front of the fire. There was a small pub, hot tub, and pool table. The breakfasts, which were included, were amazing. Homemade pancakes and waffles, etc. We had the condo on the top floor which was spacious and comfortable for two families.
