We stayed in this wonderful B&B with my parents in early September. It was a particularly quiet time, after the summer vacations but before the leaf peepers. We were made to feel very welcome. The owner greeted us and immediately upgraded us to 2 beautiful rooms with hot tubs in each bedroom. We ate a wonderful dinner in the restaurant that evening, and were treated to a warming breakfast the morning after. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean. We would highly recommend this B&B. Extremely friendly staff. We look forward to coming back.

We were graciously accommodated, arriving a bit late in the evening and needing a family room for four. The room was charming with a small bathroom that interconnected the parents room with the children's room.
The Inn keeper is extremely generous and made us feel very welcome. He got part of his education in Switzerland and as he realized we were visiting from Switzerland he just offered us a bottle of fine wine!
We had dinner at the wonderful in house restaurant and it was extremely delicious. From starter (tasty apple soup!!) to desert everything was just great.
There's also a charming bar for those who enjoy a night cap.

There is not enough space for me to state how wonderful this Inn was for me and my husband. We were booked and had paid for a room in the area and it was so completly unacceptable we literally showed up on Echo Lakes doorstep and they went out of their way to be accomodating. Our day went from being a nightmare to a charming and hospitabl e experience. The dining room was booked but they made an exception to get us fed and they have a charming bar area that was perfect for relaxing after our "trauma".The manager on duty that night, the wait staff and especially all the guests made this experience a wonderful one that if we are ever in the area we will be sure to stop there again.

My husband and I got married at Echo Lake Inn on September 1, 2013. From the moment we met with Laurence, about 15 months prior, we knew this was our perfect venue.

One of the things that initially drew us to the inn was the number of people it could accommodate overnight, and that we could have it all to ourselves. We wanted to minimize guests' travel once they arrived in VT and we wanted to be as close as possible to the people we love most for the weekend. Laurence helped to make this all possible. He was extremely accommodating, very easy to reach throughout the entire planning process, and always kept us up-to-date with documentation to make sure we were on the same page. I never had to question whether or not something would get done, and that' s a pretty significant worry to take off a bride's plate!

The wedding weekend turned out to be better than we ever could have imagined it. When we arrived on Friday, we sat down with Laurence and our families to iron out last minute details. From this point on, Laurence "had the clock" and we were simply able to enjoy ourselves and visit with family and friends. He literally has every detail down to the minute (sometimes the second!) and is extremely organized. We appreciated this so much. I would use Echo Lake Inn again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great wedding venue. It's a month later, and our parents are still hearing from guests who are raving about how wonderful everything was.

Here's a list of some of my favorite things:
- Visiting the inn during the winter with our families and sampling the delicious food and wine (which, by the way, was excellent at the wedding!)
- Laurence's flexibility - we definitely changed our minds a few times (on menu, timing of events, etc.) and he was extremely accommodating.
- Having access to a variety of activities throughout the weekend (pool, hot tub, tennis, lake activities, etc)
- During cocktail hour, Laurence assigned one of the staff with passed hors d'oeuvres to follow around the bride and groom. I don't think I even would have tried any of them otherwise. What a great idea!!

Thanks, Laurence and the Echo Lake Inn staff, for helping to make our wedding day incredible!

I am still bragging to friends about our week at the Echo Lake Inn this past August. My husband surprised me when we stopped at the Inn just before our son and family arrived to join us and our daughter’s family at a rental house on Lake Rescue. He (and I) realized how crowded the house would be after they arrived, so he asked innkeeper Lawrence if he had room for us for a week. He fitted us in, even with an extended family reunion booking most of the rooms. Our week was delightful -- we spent each day a half mile down the road with our vacationing children and families, and we were comfortable and quiet at the Inn at night through our full hot breakfast the next morning.

We reserved a table for nine at the Inn’s restaurant for a special dinner to celebrate my birthday and that of our son and grandson. And even though this was done almost at the last minute, we were graciously accommodated. The food and service were superb, and everyone enjoyed it, be it child or parent or grandparent! We would come back!

We had a great 3 night stay at the Inn, Aug 4 - 7th. The spacious Carriage House "condo" was very roomy for our family of 4. We enjoyed the tennis court, lake, pool, and had a great dinner at the Inn as well. This place has a lot of character and charm, and Lawrence and staff were very friendly as well. The boat dock was very convenient for us as well, as we brought a ski boat and spent lots of time on the lake.

Room Tip: "Condo" rooms are spacious.

We arrived after a long drive and were welcomed by a friendly manager, who had upgraded our room, which was spacious, air-conditioned (although it seems many rooms may not be) and included a therapy tub. Dinner was terrific, as was the cooked to order breakfast (included). The building is old, and like many historic places the floors are not level, styling is dated, and a certain funky charm exists - all fine from our view. Overall, a great experience.
