Reviewed 5 October 2013

My husband and I along with 3 other couples stayed at this fabulous B&B last weekend and I felt I would be remiss if I didn't share our wonderful experience with other prospective guests. We have traveled extensively throughout southern Vermont and have stayed at over 10 different inns over the years - this place has it all over the rest and at a reasonable price. We've found that while each inn has something special there's usually some drawback to be found (location, appointment of rooms, few common areas, limiting grounds, etc); Diane and Yoshio (innkeepers for the past 14 months) seem to have the magic formula for creating the most inviting and romantic atmosphere amidst a backdrop of beautifully maintained grounds and well appointed guest rooms and common areas. While maintaining an unassuming presence they cater to their guests every need and whim and have thought of every amenity to make your stay one you won't soon forget!! The inn is immaculately maintained by their cheerful and very capable staff and breakfasts are made with the freshest of ingredients - some handpicked by Diane in her gardens. Quite a culinary delight!!

While my husband and I stayed in the Lincoln Room (and by the way as noted in other reviews we were not at all bothered by noise from the road as there is very little traffic at night) our friends in three other rooms (Thompson Purdy, Pierrpont and Gideon Ormsby) were equally thrilled with their accommodations). The whirlpool tubs for two, fireplaces and comfy beds, linens and robes were all luxurious treats - not to mention the bath salts, candle and matches left by the jacuzzi (nice touch!!) Did I not say they think of everything??

Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this inn and if you plan on visiting Southern Vermont - look no further than The Inn at Ormsby Hill - I promise you won't be disappointed! The only disappointment is leaving!! All 3 couples we traveled with have agreed we'll be back in the near future!! We hope that Diane and Yoshio will call this place "home" for several more years as coming back to this inn will feel like "home" to all who return!

Recently stayed at this inn for 2 nights in the Taft Inn. The staff was wonderful - our room was excellent. Very comfy bed, free bottled water, robes, excellent bath products. They had lovely public areas & we were able to share some Hildene cheese, wine & fruit on the back deck and enjoy the weather & the view. At first I was hesitant to stay here due to some older reviews that were not very good. But PLEASE be aware - that there are new owners who were wonderful. Only sad thing is that we did not have time to use the fireplace that was all prepared for us!!

Room Tip: The Taft room was quiet - lovely tub for 2, great bed & double shower that also had a steam unit...

We travel widely and I can't remember a more lovely experience than this Inn. The room (Tower) was quaint, the bathroom spacious (two shower heads which was fun), the Inn itself immaculately clean and nicely appointed.
We had a little glitch and Diane instantly remedied it for us. I think this is the mark of a great business owner - problems do happen and it's the staff's response that makes a place great.

Room Tip: Tower room is neat - two levels!

My husband and I spent Labor Day weekend at the Inn at Ormsby Hill. With two highly stressful jobs, the weekend was just what the Doctor ordered. The Inn is a beautiful property and we loved our room (Taft) with a double steam shower and jacuzzi. The inn and our room were spotless. We spent some time just sitting outside in the beautiful backyard on the cozy rockers with a hot cup of tea and homemade cookies too. My husband even hit the hammock! Manchester as well as other areas we visited were great with plenty to do and see - absolutely beautiful scenery. Diane and Yoshio gave us excellent restaurant recommendations which we loved. The highlight of every day were the incredible breakfasts - truly delicious and served beautifully. We loved the property and hated to leave. It was a wonderful place which we highly recommend and we can't wait to return.

I enjoyed 4 nights on my own at this lovely Vermont B&B, just 5 minutes outside Manchester Center ---- far enough away to feel you are in the country, close enough to get to shopping, attractions, and restaurants quickly. The rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed (mine had a steam shower and a jacuzzi, and there were also upscale toiletries in the bathroom). Breakfast is delicious and very filling -- you won't need lunch! The grounds are beautifully designed/maintained (be sure to check out the wildflower labyrinth). The owners are extremely friendly and thoughtful, and have plenty of interesting stories to tell if you want conversation. Although I stayed here on my own, I would also highly recommend it for couples -- very romantic.

Room Tip: There are a number of room configurations -- talk to the owners when booking to let them help you de...

We stayed here with friends for a week and could not have asked for a more delightful experience. We had beautiful weather, the Inn was lovely in every way and the innkeepers, Diane and Yoshio and the Inn staff exuded kindness, gracious hospitality and the gift of gentle, caring presence.
The breakfast selections were healthy, beautifully prepared and delicious.
Our room was the Tower room and it was comfortable and spacious.
Our only regret was that our room faced the front of the house and we chose to open the windows given my asthma and the weather was so beautiful - however the noise of dump trucks etc. traveling very early in the morning along the main road caused us to close the windows due to the inability to rest with this continual noise. Despite this minor distraction, we plan on returning again and simply getting a room that faces to the back of the house.
Truly a wonderful week in every way! With deep gratitude to all who made this possible~.
