From the phone call to make reservations, to arrival and restaurant recommendations, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The location is great, close enough to many of the shops and restaurants that we walked. The room was large and clean and comfortable, but I must say that the couch and chair in the sitting area were a bit older, if that sort of thing bothers you. Didn't bother us - they were very comfy. The property is lovely and picturesque. We will definitely stop there again.

Hello and thank you for your recent review. We truly appreciate your all-encompassing kind words for us at the Palmer House! It's true, it takes every department to make a place happen and we are very pleased you were satisfied with your stay. Along with the compliment, we will also take to heart your thoughts on some of the furniture. It isn't quite clear to me which sitting area you were talking about, whether in the lobby or in your room. We do have antique furniture sprinkled about but certainly will take a harder look to see if some haven't unnecessarily aged while we weren't looking!
We look forward to your return.
Sincerely,
Tina

Had an excellent experience at the Palmer House in Manchester, Vermont. The grounds are beautiful, and the location provides easy access to "downtown" Manchester shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, décor is up-to-date, and everything is clean and well-maintained. Innkeeper and staff were pleasant and helpful.

Everyone here takes pride in the work they do so when you praise every aspect of the Palmer House, it is a lovely compliment for the owners, our groundskeeper, our housekeeping staff and the ladies at the front desk, of which I am one of them. So, on behalf of all of us, Thank You!

Imagine jumping into an indoor pool 80' in length where the water temp is 86 degrees Farenheit and the air a steamless 88. You've just worked out on the treadmill and rowing machine and beat a good sweat, in fact you're dripping when you crash into silent blue surface with no taste of chlorine and are swimming profoundly in utter quiet. Just you and the twin ladders, all of it less than 6' deep. Through the poplar trees viewed windows the sky dances tiny reflection mirages on the cealing as you roll through all the possible swimming styles, and you're totally alone. An hour and you feel like the last man on Earth would feel, and the trout pond not 100' away. The Palmer House is for sentient human beings who relish solitary or couple relaxation. Parts of it -the path to the pool in fact, reveals Orphic mysticism, or a moment of reflection worth of Rome say: at the private baths of Vespasian. Manchester's biggest secret is contained here.

Room Tip: Our favorite room is near the burial grounds of a previous farm resident who died in December, 1859.

Green Features: Cleanliness is next to Olympian Godliness here. You would no sooner drop a tissue, than you would scream at an eagle.

All I can say is "Wow!"...and when is your first novel being published, because I need to read one of your books! How poetically written. I pictured every free fall and lunge forward into the pool. I could taste the "chlorine-free" water...I felt my muscles ease with your shared relaxation...! Beautifully done. You must come back. I need to read more!
Sincerely,
Tina

If you are looking for luxury "mountain style" this is the place. While all the rooms are nice, the suites are special. They are large, super clear and very comfortable. The furnishings are terrific and feature large comfortable beds and a pull out couch in the separate living room. We had 2 T.V.'s and there was a gas fireplace. The bathroom had a jacuzzi and a large walk in shower. 2 sinks, as well. We had a deck with chairs overlooking the stocked pond. The property features a par 3 golf course; suitable for wedges and putting.
The staff is very helpful and accomodating. there are 2 pools; one outside, and one inside. one can walk into the center of town where all the shops and outlets are located.

One negative. they only offer a simple continental breakfast for a modest fee. However, that allow one to visit one of the fantastic breakfast spots in town.

Room Tip: Spring for a suite if you can.

Green Features: They have a "Green" rating. A nce effort.

Hello and thank you for taking time to write a review. I'm very pleased you were so taken with your Suite! They are so comfortable that once people check in you rarely see them out and about until check-out time! I'm also glad you were able to scout out the local breakfast eateries for a more substantial breakfast but for those who are not so hungry in the morning, a steaming cup of coffee and bagel with cream cheese can be just the thing! We look forward to your return and more of your enthusiastic reviews!
Sincerely,
Tina

We Just got back from 10 days in Manchester Vt. for our "Twenty Moon" at The Palmer House in one of their suite accomadations. This is our second stay at this location and truly is a lovely place. We had a huge bedroom and bath with Jacuzzi , a separate walk in shower and double sink, a living room with a separate dining area with table, four chairs, sink, microwave, small fridge and coffee pot. The living room had a large sofa and very large comfy chair and firplace(gas) for fall and winter, as well as sliders going out to a deck with a view of the on site trout pond with a fountain light3ed at night(although we didn't see it lit working each night on this visit. We also had a view of Equinox Mountain. The staff is friendly, their is a continental breakfast offered but we chose local establishments such as Up For Breakfast and The Little Rooster, both eclectic and delicious. Try Yo olde Tavern which i =s in one corner of the property. Food is fantastic and large menu selection. We ate at Chantecleer in East Dorset for our Anniversary and it was also a great dining experience, as well as the Dorset Inn. Try Bistro Henry, Solo(in S. Londenderry Vt.( farm to table dining) as well. Both were lovely.
This

Room Tip: WE stayed in a suite, room 75 which was lovely.

Green Features: They are trying to go in the direction of green with solar panels and a choice of fresh towel(or not) each day as well as CFL light bulbs.

Hello and thank you for taking time to give us a review. We are so pleased that you were able to return to us for your special occasion and that you bubbled over with enthusiasm on your description of our property! It was very nice to read. I think it's true, once you go to our Deluxe Suites, it's hard to go back to anything else...especially with that lovely view of the Pond!
So thank you again. Return to us soon!

We booked 3 nights at this resort and we had a great stay! The front desk was very nice and helpful. We stayed in one of the rooms in the house location. Our room and bathroom was clean. The bed was comfortable. The house is located near the road and we could not hear any road noise. It was super quiet. The grounds were superb! We did not play golf but we did play crocket. They charge a very small fee for light breakfast. The wi-fi was ok. Overall we truly enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend this resort! Harbor Town Fly Fishing

We appreciate any future recommendations and we will be delighted to have you return as well!

Just returned after staying 3 nights in their beautiful suites. Everything is just so PRISTINE! The rooms are immaculate, the bed so comfortable and the grounds are just magnificent. We were first greeted by Tina who made us feel so special and welcomed us back. We have stayed here many times. All of the staff are so friendly. The location is wonderful, we walked to everything!
The pool was so clean and relaxing and we also played golf on the beautiful grounds. Checkout was a breeze with friendly Ruth. We had such a nice and relaxing time at the Palmer House!! We can't wait to return!!!
