Description: The historic Marsh Tavern was the first building erected on the site of what is today the expansive Equinox resort. One of the first lodging houses in Vermont, its history predates the Revolutionary War. Today it is home to a celebrated restaurant and meeting place. Renowned for its hearty New England fare, patrons can enjoy a delicious lunch and the finest regional dinner cuisine. And for good fun, spend a while in the Tavern Lounge for cocktails, a tasty menu and outdoor seating for wine and spirits. Open daily.

Dinner is wonderful. You can sit outside on the front of the Hotel during the summer months. It's quiet and the food is delicious. The menu is a bit limited, but food quality is great, and service is excellent. I have eaten there several times and always liked it.
Lobster pasta is always my husbands favorite. Hamburgers are great too. Can't forget to ask for the bread box It's fantastic.

We have been to this restaurant dozens of times (lunch, dinner, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas Eve and Day dinner, cocktails.....). We all enjoyed the French Onion Soup until they took it off the menu within the past year. They will often have it on the specials menu and have always honored our requests for it, even if it wasn't on the menu. We were out celebrating our daughter's 17th birthday at the Marsh Tavern, at her request. She was looking forward to the FOS all day.... At first we were told they had it, then when we placed our order, the server told us that they didnt have it and that the other guy was mistaken. Daughter was really bummed and we considered going elsewhere. We ended up ordering and waiting for over an hour, on the freezing cold patio (they were very busy and that was the only option for seating - this is Vermont and it was 50 degrees) for our food. The birthday girl received her dinner cold tasting "gross" (she orders this every time we go....) and didnt eat a thing. The whole experience was terrible. It might have been made a bit better had the server actually been pleasant and friendly!! Very disappointed in what used to be a great, inviting place to dine.

Lunch is a little quiter and just a lovely experience. If you can just take some time from shopping or hiking or skiing and relax near the fire and have a long lunch. The service is great and the details (the bread box) are impeccable.

Great pork! The restaurant has a nice ambiance and very good food, at least the pork was wonderful.
It is also important to mention the homemade ice cream which also is worth trying.

Unlike the Chop House, the food here is spotty. Same chef, but woefully bad menu. Shepard's Pie in 95 degree weather??? Glubby gravy, fatty chicken. Slimely, smelly seafood!! Poor waitstaff. So disappointing. Used to LOVE LOVE it. Way downhill.
