Description: The historic Marsh Tavern was the first building erected on the site of what is today the expansive Equinox resort. One of the first lodging houses in Vermont, its history predates the Revolutionary War. Today it is home to a celebrated restaurant and meeting place. Renowned for its hearty New England fare, patrons can enjoy a delicious lunch and the finest regional dinner cuisine. And for good fun, spend a while in the Tavern Lounge for cocktails, a tasty menu and outdoor seating for wine and spirits. Open daily.

We were staying at the Equinox and came to the Marsh Tavern for a snack and cocktails at the bar. The bartender was very engaging, he brought a tray with delicious breads, veggies and a clemintine. We ordered the prezel bites which were also very good. We were going to have dinner there earlier but were turned off because the place was loaded with families with young, loud children.

I had a google coupon for the Marsh Tavern in nearby Manchester, VT. It is in the Equinox Hotel which is a beautiful historic building in a lovely setting. Don't get me wrong, the food is very good and the wine was pretty good as well. However, at $16 a glass the Chardonnay was really of the $10 to $12 a bottle variety. And the cedar-planked salmon with minimal side accompaniment was pretty tasty but at $20 ish for the entree, not at the asking price of $32. Local people may not be the intended clientele since it is the only "tavern" around with so much pretentiousness.

Great quality food - they even had delicious gluten free rolls - a real surprise - delicious halibut - yummy sorbet - a bit overpriced - but expected given it is a hotel restaurant - enjoyed it - despite the price
