Although my husband and I visit Manchester two or three times a year, we didn't discover Cafe Mamie until a few weeks ago. We are so happy we did! It is located at the back of one of the buildings at the Southern Vermont Art Center, which is a just a little bit off the beaten path but well worth a visit. No matter what your level of interest in the art may be, the setting is serene and so very beautiful, with this lovely Cafe a true bonus. It is a beautiful room, with patio seating overlooking the mountains and rolling lawns, and gracious and attentive servers. The menu offers a terrific selection of unusual, colorful, flavor-packed soups, salads and sandwiches, with a thoughtful selection of wines by the glass (I believe there is also a full bar). We did our best to eat slowly because we just did not want our meal to end! Then we prolonged it by ordering some of their french-press coffee and a lemon bar complimented by fresh raspberry sauce--just divine! If you are looking for a memorable meal in a peaceful setting, Cafe Mamie should be at the top of your "To Go To" list.

What a find! Best lunch in Manchester; no contest--returned for more. Delightful cafe nestled in a corner of the Southern Vermont Art Center where Chef Mariah Macfarlane works miracles. Enjoyed the roasted beet salad, the brie tart, key lime pie and more. And while you are there do enjoy the art, and ask about the botany trail.

We have been a few times in the last month and have been very pleased with our lunches every time. Menu has a good selection of choices and changes every time. Prices reasonable for the excellent quality. Service is good, and the surroundings are very pleasant. Highly recommended for a delightful lunch. The evening meal menu looks interesting too but we have not been there yet.

We never expected to find a lovely café tucked back in the woods at an art gallery.......it was a cool, crisp, day and decided to have lunch on the patio.....service was slow, probably due to the many people making the same decision that we did. The food was delicious though and definitely return if in that area again.
