This is my second time staying at this Motel and I enjoyed it even more than last year. We stayed in Room 24 which was charmingly decorated, spacious, very clean & comfortable. Owners were extremely friendly & accommodating. Our screen door needs some repair of wood surrounding doorknob & metal bar above which is bent so wouldn't hold door open when moving luggage in. Otherwise, indoor decor appears to be new and in excellent repair, both in bedroom and bathroom areas. This was the most affordable accommodation in the area, more than 1/2 the cost of other motels/Inns, for this peek foliage season The cost also includes a nice continental breakfast.

Room Tip: Beautiful view from the rooms up the hill in back of rest of motel. Each room is decorated different...

The rooms were nice and clean, bed was comfortable. For the price, its a great value and convenient for location too. The continental breakfast didn't look so great so we decided to splurge on going out for breakfast.

We spent one night here Saturday October 4th in room 17. Yes, the place is swanky, the furniture is 60's or 70's Hitchcock style but it's clean. Yes the room has a slight "motel room odor" but that's from the windows not bring open. I don't see any visible mold except for a very tiny area in grout line in the bath, not a big deal. The bathroom in our room is 1950's pink tile and tub. Yes the tv is tube style but who cares. It's s basic clean motel and it there seems to be a lot of rooms occupied this morning. The current owners have been here for two years. There a a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board and hair dryer in the room. We would have liked to book a quaint B & B but we did this last minute and it's fine. The free breakfast consists juice, coffee, milk, cereal , prepackaged muffins and pastries, English muffins, hard boiled eggs and sausage, and make your own waffles. We paid approximately $140 for the room and at this time of the year in Vermont , that's cheap.

What a bummer to stay at this moldy motel! It smells so bad! Also the bright outdoor lights make it near impossible to view the stars. If it weren't so late I would find another place to stay. Cant wait til morning so i can get out of here. Btw....The 1980s called and they want their tv back!

We were quite pleased with ourxrecent stay here.
The room was very clean and the owner very accommodating.
Breakfast was adequate and the beds quite comfortable.
I would reccomend this as a reasonably priced alternative to the other places in the area.

Four Winds is a quint motel. This is an average to good value motel in Manchester. I would give it a "good" rating which to me is between "Average" and "Very Good".

Looks to me like this is a family run operation, and the family tries hard to accommodate the guests. Do have a little patience if they are not right at the front desk, just ring the bell and they will be there.

My friend and I rented the cottage. It is very spacious and is a stand alone unit behind the reception building and in front of the pool. The cottage is laid out like a studio with no walls and doors separating the kitchen area, sitting area and beds so no privacy for more than one couple, but I kept thinking it would serve well for a family of a couple with 2 kids. Parts of the room could use some cosmetic maintenance. Example, one of the doors could use some scrapping off the old paint, plugging some nail size holes, and putting on a new coat of paint. But it’s not a big deal.

Other than the kitchen appliances described on the motel website, there is also a coffee maker and a blender provided in the cottage. I forgot if there are pots and pans provided since we didn’t cook, but I saw glasses. I don’t remember if there are dishes either, but I would assume so. I guess I got distracted as soon as I saw the blender and glasses which made me think of smoothies and frozen drinks, and that there is a Shaw’s and a Price Choppers within less than 3 miles.

Bar soap is provided, but the front desk will provide packages of shampoo-conditioner-in-one if you did not bring your own. There is also a hair dryer in the bathroom.

It would have been nice if all 4 windows have screens so we could air out the cottage since we like having fresh air. We kept the 2 windows that have screens open the whole weekend and the temperature was comfortable enough that we never had to use the A/C. The room did have a "closed up" smell when we first entered, but it got better as it was aired out during our stay.

The website stated they serve continental breakfast. To me, they actually provided more than a continental breakfast since there were hard boiled eggs, breakfast sausages and make-your-own waffles in addition to other normal continental breakfast items. We stayed during the weekend, so do not know if it is different for weekday breakfasts.

The pool looks clean.

Location is good since it is a short 2.5 miles to Northshire Bookstore with plenty of restaurants and outlet shops easily accessible nearby. There are also plenty of hiking opportunities within 30 minutes drive.

The motel was not full during our stay and it seemed to me that the owners put guests in alternating rooms so that guests won’t have neighbors right next to one another in the motel units which is very nice touch.

Stayed one night on trip from Montreal to Boston with family renting two rooms. Hotel rooms appeared externally to be very clean. The grounds were beautifully manicured.

However, we were ultimately disappointed. The defining initial feature of both rooms was a strong musty smell that persisted even after opening the doors and windows for several minutes. Clearly something was causing this odor, perhaps mold embedded in the carpeting or walls.

The two double mattresses in one of the rooms were both very uncomfortable and clearly past their life expectancy. The linen however was impeccable. Both rooms were equipped with an iron and an ironing board conveniently attached to the outside of the bathroom door. This strange location completely blocked the bathroom when it was used and made an otherwise nicely furnished room look like a utility closet. The breakfast buffet was barely minimal and, surprisingly for Vermont, featured a gooey tasteless corn-syrup to accompany the otherwise excellent, self-prepared waffles. Breakfast was served on environmentally disastrous Styrofoam plates and plastic eating utensils.

The one interaction with the staff (we arrived relatively late) was completely transactional and followed-up with a phone call to our room asking if we were comfortable.
