I can quite see why the Inn at Manchester has such a great following. Rarely have I been somewhere where the owners appear to care so much that all the guests have a good time and that they are so personally pleased to have met you. The service was exceptional, the rooms were well appointed and the food was great. The fact that hot and cold drinks were available 24/7 at no extra charge with fantastic cookies and cakes was an unexpected bonus. I would not hesitate to go back - top marks to the Inn at Manchester

Our trip to the Inn at Manchester was our first visit to Vermont and our first stay at a B&B.

The Inn was cozy, warm and inviting and we felt at home from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Loved the books around the house, the puzzle room and all the fireplaces!

I'm not much of a dog person, but I loved little Chai. She's an adorable dog and added just the right touch of friendly welcome everytime you came into the Inn. (No jumping, licking or barking...just friendly tail wagging!)

Breakfast was delicious and while the portions didn't look extravagent they packed a punch and kept us full well into the afternoon even when we were out X-Country skiing. (Especially the cottage cakes!)

The location is great - walking distance to a few restaurants and very close to Hildene and the shopping areas.

Overall a great experience!

2 British senior couples travelling New England in December and staying at Inns and this was THE BEST.

Frank & Julie made us very welcome. The rooms are well furnished with many extras, the public rooms very high standard and looked beautiful dressed for Christmas.

Frank cooked a great breakfast. The best bit was the 24 hour pantry available to all guests.

We shall return !

The Inn is well located for skiing and shopping. The owners Frank & Julie went out of their way to be helpful especially as we had our daughter with us (6) who was younger than they normally take.
We were originally booked for 3 nights moving to another inn for 2 nights over new years. The second inn were very unhelpful and wouldnt take out daughter. We rang Frank & Julie and they rearranged rooms and welcomed us back like family. This Inn is lovely, the food is good and the people really make it a relaxing and enjoyable time. I would recommend it to anyone.

Each Thanksgiving weekend my husband and I get away to Vermont for a romantic weekend without the children and some serious Christmas shopping at the luxury outlets in Manchester.

This is our favorite inn to date. The owners, Frank and Julia, welcomed us personally and took wonderful care of us. In fact when we booked a modest room at the last minute, Frank offered us a suite with fireplace and jacuzzi bath for the second night to seal the deal at the same price as the single room!

The Inn is text book charming and filled with Frank and Julia's antiques from their prior life in North Carolina. Multiple fireplaces, board games and a cozy bar to have a glass of wine and chat if you're feeling social.

Our single room (Parsley) was charming - double-bed very comfortable and small flat screen TV. The suite (Sage) was everything you would want in a romantic getaway: four-poster, super comfy, double- bed, fireplace, jacuzzi, and a flat screen TV with DVD player and an assortment of movies. Hard to drag ourselves out of there to go shopping!

Frank doubles as chef and the breakfasts (included) are fantastic. Omlets the first day, cottage cakes the next, all freshly made and servied in the dining room by Frank or Julia.

The Manchester outlets are 3 moniues down the street and the shopping is amazing. Stratton Mountain and Bormley are 20 minutes and 10 minutes away (respectively) for great skiing.

Awesome - highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Cinnamon Room of the Inn at Manchester. The room is clean, the sheets are fresh and everything is updated. Downstairs, there is a sitting room which has a lovely fireplace, with a wonderful library, a chess set and scrabble. There is also lounge with a bar where the red wine (I had pinot noir which tasted very well. I was expecting a stale wine but it was good and fresh) was poured generously. Oh, the lounge has its own fireplace too. Until 9:30 p.m. (the time that they close), guests can go to the kitchen and help themselves to coffee or tea.

They have a lovely dining room where they serve breakfast. Frank cooks breakfast while Julie attends to the guests, pouring orange juice and directing them to the cofee pot. Frank and Julie are a wonderful couple and obviously have a gift for hospitality. It's great to see them work together at their inn.

The Inn at Manchester is located close to the outlet shopping center. It is a wonderful inn and we would have wanted to stay longer but all rooms were already booked. The only thing I can nitpick, I guess is that it would have been nice if guests can have access to the tea beyond 9:30 p.m. Yet even with that, the Inn at Manchester is delightful and a definite treasure.

  • Liked — The room is clean, everything works, the bed feels great.
  • Disliked — The receptionist.

My brother and sister-in-law stayed here last year and recommended this as their favourite place in Vermont; we only had time for one night but were not disappointed - beautiful clappervoard building in a stunning setting, and Manchester is a lovely village and excellent base for exploring the general area - we wished we had allowed more time to stay in this area.

The Inn is beautifully and tastefully decorated with many lovely paintings; there was a roaring fire (all day) and a little pantry to help yourself to coffee, pastries, etc. Frank & Julie were perfect hosts, and Frank does a great breakfast (cottage cakes & sausages, on this occasion). We hope to return!
