“A return visit-and another Romantic Weekend!”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

My husband and I were able to get away for just an overnight to The Barnstead Inn this past very snowy weekend, and we enjoyed another wonderful get-a-way at this charming and rustic Inn. The Inn has, I think, 14 rooms, and each has charm and uniqueness that make it a true Vermont hide-a-way full of modern amenities. Our room has a beautiful and SO COMFY king sized bed, with a very lovely addition of a Keurig Coffee maker, microwave and fridge; the view overlooked the summer kitchen and a babbling brook. While my husband skied at nearby Bromley, I was able to relax in comfort with a lovely room, a view and a good book. The Inn is only about 3 blocks from the flagship Northshire Bookstore (a MUST visit) and all of the outlets of Manchester. Innkeepers Neil and Cynthia were SO accommodating; I don't see why anyone would not want to stay in a local charm filled Inn where they listen to what you want and go out of their way to make your stay, short or long, be pleasant and relaxing. We needed to stay a bit past the check out time and Neil was able to accommodate us, and made sure we had everything we needed. dealing with local folks, they also were able to suggest dining and shopping that we may have missed otherwise. The property is so unique and the owners continue to add touches that make it so pleasant. The rooms we have had have been so beautiful, clean and most important, comfortable! The personal touch is so important to us; we really don't like the cookie cutter feel of chain motels, and this has become our favorite home away from home for a romantic night away from work and the family!

Room Tip: You really can't go wrong with any room; the two suite rooms, with gas fireplaces are stunning a...

Recently visited Manchester over Christmas and we all were really pleased with the Barnstead Inn. Super friendly, clean, near town and authentically Vermont. Nice spacious rooms. Neil and Cindy made our Christmas Eve very special.

Spent 1 night at the Barnstead Inn during our tour of USA & Canada which we found to be a pleasant experience, the room was spacious and clean and the location is only a short walk from the centre of Manchester which has a selection of designer shops - if this is your thing!

This is our 5th trip to Manchester and our 3rd stay in a row at the Barnstead Inn. We love the feel of the Inn, the property, the room, the furnishings, the proximity to town... love it all! The hosts are terrific. We like the rooms with the gas fireplace, but you can't go wrong with any of the rooms.

We had stayed at the Barnstead many years ago and were pleased to do so again. Normally weekends are a two day minimum but the owner made an exception for us. Our room was very nice with a cathedral ceiling and a most comfortable bed. The grounds are lovely but rain prevented us from enjoying them them completely. It is very close to downtown Manchester which has several outstanding restaurants.

My fiancé and I decided to take a last minute trip to Vermont and stay in Manchester, VT Columbus Day weekend. We were only staying one night and were lucky we found availability at the Barnstead Inn. This quaint Inn was prefect for our getaway. Neal and Cindy were lovely and helpful from arrival to departure. The Barnstead Inn is walking distance to downtown Manchester, which was very convenient. We stayed in the Bromley Room, which was prefect for us with a comfy king size bed! We will definitely make a return to Manchester and stay at The Barnstead Inn!

I recently stayed at the Barnstead Inn as part of a trip to photograph fall color in New Hampshire and Vermont. My room was impeccably furnished, with a beautiful fire place for heat. The room was generously sized and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

The location is great as downtown Manchester is only a short, pleasant walk away. I cannot wait to make a return visit and recommend the Barnstead for anyone visiting the area.

Room Tip: I was in the The Lowell Lake Lodge Room. I will be requesting that room again when I return!
