“Great location and facility!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

The Cortina is just over the top of the hill on 4 past the access road to Killington. You can see the top of Pico from the deck. You're surrounded by the Green Mountains and it's a short drive to Killington proper as well as down the hill to Rutland. The staff is super accommodating and has everything dialed in with the feel of a small B&B but the facility of a full fledged resort. The fireplace that dominates the center of the main building adjacent to the lobby is a great place to gather and hangout after a day touring the region. The rooms are clean and always well kept and the food is on point. The work that the staff is putting into the hotel looks to make this an even better place to stay in the future. I can only recommend minor upgrades to the downstairs entertainment area, but I am sure that is undergoing work similar to the improvements around the hotel itself. Overall a great place to stay with friendly knowledgeable staff, good food and great rooms.

We stayed at the Cortina for one bonus night when we decided to extend our Killington weekend (thank you Long Trail Brewery!). We looked up places when we were at Long Trail and the staff there tried veering us away from the Cortina. Apparently, it is in the midst of a major renovation and their experiences were from years ago. Based on the positive recent reviews and since the price was right, we decided to give it a go.

It was a Sunday night during ski season but the Inn was very quiet. We were given a queen room on the second floor but traded for a king room on the 1st floor. What may be the only downfall is the proximity of the rooms to the central hang out area in the middle of all the rooms. There are couches and a fireplace which is nice, but as soon as you exit your room, people can be chilling and reading their book. The room to your door and that area is only about 2 feet apart. So maybe not the best choice if you're looking for privacy. There are other rooms in the back you could ask for but on a slow Sunday night, they were not available.

The pool and the hot tub were very nice. There is even some other areas to explore next to the pool...what looks like the older part of the hotel. There is an abandoned bar and game room, it's kinda creepy but kinda cool. We also found a ping pong table and played a little while waiting for the hot tub to clear out.

Breakfast was ok (no hot foods out, only waffle maker and cereal), but it was included so I can't complain too much.

Room Tip: Choose second floor for added privacy

Stayed here after walking in and then walking out of my reservation at the Econo Lodge Motel down the street.
This place was absolutely awesome. The man at the front desk was really warm and accommodating. The building and lobby were gorgeous, really nice Free standing wood burning fireplace in the middle. Rooms were super clean and spacious. Had a large patio to relax on. Amazing beds. Awesome hot tub and pool. Bottom floor has a ping pong table pool table board games darts TV room and old bar. Delicious full continental breakfast with 3 waffle makers! Great stuff. Really nice staff.

I would definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: Try to get a patio

Last minute trip to killington. Needed pool, so I searched. Cortina was least expensive option. Thought, omg, what will it be like for 100$. It was great! Friendly, clean, well lit. Everything worked. Fire going, hot coffee and tea when you check in. Pool was great, ping pong, air hockey, fun. Did brkfast too, very good. I was w teenagers, they liked it as well. Mt is 3 minutes up the road.

Stayed on a Sunday night for under $100 in a relatively large, nicely furnished and clean room. I liked the exposed brick and flat-screens, more than I was expecting. Also, the balcony access was nice although shared (wraps around) with all rooms on the second level. Only drawback is that it is not very close to the mountain. Breakfast was nice enough. Would definitely stay again if under $100.

Room Tip: Second floor.

Stayed at Cortina Inn during December with a small group. The Inn was a great value given how pricey the lodging options can get in the area.

Our rooms were locared on the upper floor directly overlooking the common area with the fireplace. It was early in the ski season and VERY quiet.

Pool is very large and drops down to about 10 feet (don't quote me on that).

It's a bit far from Killington mountain compare to the other resorts. In the immediate area there is The Snow Angel Tavern for so good eats. We walked in after some of the locals were finishing up a private birthday party. Very friendly!!

My absolute favorite part of the resort was the Breakfast with the waffle maker. Who would want to turn down a home made waffle?

The Cortina Inn is a charming bed and breakfast style hotel. I came up with my boyfriend and another couple for a skiing trip in Killington. To save money, we opted to share a room with two beds. Upon check-in, the manager, Patrick, gave us a bit of an attitude as he explained that he would be charging extra for 4 people staying in one room. This was not a great welcome after driving up almost 5 hours. Note that if you book through Booking.com, there may be an extra charge for additional people. I didn't read this anywhere.
However, he must have just been in a bad mood, because beyond that moment he was extremely charming and accommodating and at checkout did not charge extra.

The hotel rooms surround an old school fire place that sinks into the ground with comfy couches surrounding it. All around the hotel you can find comfortable nooks with lots of furniture and tables to play cards, read, relax, etc. The hotel is BYO and you can drink anywhere in the hotel. No alcohol or food is served in the hotel beyond what you bring or order in. Olympia Pizza is a great delivery option.

Hot breakfast in the morning was perfect. We stayed 3 nights and over those days we had eggs, sausage, waffles out of the iron, potatoes, scrapple (hamburger helper), oatmeal, and toast before skiing. Not much fruit, just a basket of apples.

The pool looked nice, but the hot tub was really small. There were lots of little kids running around so we weren't as enticed to test it out. I'm wondering if it is a family type place to stay or with as packed with kids because of new year's.

Patrick was really helpful with recommending places to eat and drink. Note: Cortina is not walking distance from anything, nor does it have a restaurant any more. You will need a car or to take the bus. Cabs will charge a lot to come and pick you up because they're mostly driving from Killington resort area. That's about $20 just for them to get to you here. The Snow Angel is less than a mile down the road and had decent food. Everything else is much further, I recommend Mgrath's Irish Pub at Long Trail Inn. Only about 5-7 minute drive from the Cortina with excellent food and live Irish music.

I would absolutely go back to the Cortina, but may want to stay closer to Rutland downtown area next time so we can go out with having to drive. Overall a great experience!

Room Tip: Upper level rooms should be more quiet. You may also want to request a room away from the fireplace...
