We were recently in Vermont for an event. This restaurant was across the street from the hotel, so we tried it. When we arrived, we were the only people in the place. The guy who was running the bar and serving tables explained that they had been very busy the night before so the menu was a little limited. After about 10 minutes of figuring out what it was we could actually order, we were ready. For an appetizer we ordered loaded fries and mozerella sticks. When they arrived, they were both a funky brown color. It was obvious that the grease they were cooking in was dirty and old. For dinner, I had ordered a grilled cheese. Well, it arrived on a sub roll, cut in half and flipped inside out. My husband had a roast beef sandwhich and it was beyond gross. The fries that came with our meal were also cooked in the dirty oil When you moved the fries to the side of the plate, there was a puddle of brown oil. The poor guy working there that night felt so bad, and we know it was not his fault. He apologized over and over again, and kindly took all the food off the bill. I'd like to say that maybe the food was so bad because they were busy the night before, but I really don't think so. If you dare try it, I'd say have a beer only and then find somewhere else to eat.
