As of December, 2012, the restaurant has a "for lease" sign in the window. I've never been here to eat, and it looks like I won't get to try it.

Too bad. Northfield could use some more places to dine.

First off it was our first visit and without question our last! We went to try the southern fried chicken and the pulled pork, both being thier items they are proud of and brag about. We got 2 sides each with our dinners and we purposely got 4 different ones so we could both try a bit of each. Our sides were the mac n cheese, baked beans, cole slaw and sweet potato fries. They brag on thier southern menu but had no cornbread and ran out of biscuits that morning? But we ate at 6 pm? Surely they could have made some biscuits in that time? So anyway, on to the food we were able to get. The fried chicken lacked all flavor and was over cooked. The pulled pork was moist and tender but was horribly salty. The baked beans tasted like canned beans with bbq sauce added to them. The sweet potato fries were frozen, the mac n cheese was the most awful I have ever eaten, quite awful!, the cole slaw was not good either. All the food lacked flavor, except for the pulled pork that was overly salty! Everything was just awful! There was not one thing we got from all our meals that was any good. I do not imagine this place will be around long!

As the title says, the food is southern style comfort food (hard to find in VT), with a nice friendly home town Vermont atmosphere. Lunch and dinner items all under $10. Loved the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries.
