“Comfortable getaway”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

We chose the Norwich Inn for an overnight to visit the nearby King Arthur Flour Store and Complex and relatives an hour away from Norwich. I requested accommodation in the new Walker building which was clean, comfortable and quiet. Check-in was quick and pleasant and we had a great "Old Fashioned" in the Inn's bar. Town is typical of Vermont, some interesting architecture aside from the rather ugly gas station/convenience store next door. We chose to have dinner at the Inn's restaurant - service was wonderful and the food excellent, price reasonable. You can also dine in the Bar with the same menu but the dining room is more comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was also excellent the next morning with a very cheerful server. We would stay there again.

This is the perfect New England hotel. Restaurant downstairs, great service, across from the beautiful town green...
Minutes from Dartmouth College, which is why we stayed there. Close to great hiking trails. The rooms are a little old fashioned, but that's part if the charm.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions. It is really a special place. The new building has great rooms, incredibly comfortable beds and just a great feel. The bar in the main inn is a delightful place. Great beers are brewed right there. The staff could not be nicer. We were first in line on Sunday morning for the muffins and they did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. A real treat is being in Norwich proper and right next to Dan and Whit's (worth a side trip any day!!!!!!!) There were a couple of little very minor annoyances, but that did not diminish our overall love for the inn.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms in the new building. We have only stayed there and they are terrific.

My husband and I stayed here after attending a class at King Arthur Flour. Our room was wonderful! It seemed updated and modern, spacious with a fireplace. We dinned at the pub. The food was good and the Whistlng Pig beer was fabulous! Our only complaint was that we felt no joy from ourwaitress who seemed like she could care less about the customer. My husband and I just wanted to chill out and she wasn't very helpful or friendly. Perhaps she was just having a bad night. I would stay there again.

We were combining at visit to Dartmouth and a class at King Arthur Flour. From the moment we drove in we knew we hit the jackpot. Everything you could want in a New England Inn -- an inviting concierge, public rooms and a pub. We were so tired from the drive when we got in we decided just to eat at the restaurant at the inn. We liked it so much that we decided to come back the next night, too

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor -- no elevators or bellhops -- so be warned.

We checked into the Norwich Inn on a Friday afternoon with 4 other couples, in town to attend the Cornell-Dartmouth hockey game - Go Big Red! Our welcome by the front desk was professional and fun at the same time, everything was in order and we felt as if we had been there before, and belonged. The rooms managed to combine all the luxuries of home (flat screen tv to wifi to towel warmers)with the romantic feel of the New England Inn we were staying in (four post king sized bed and a fireplace).

During our stay we used the Pub and the dining room, their Craft Brewed beer (Jasper Murdoch's Ale) by the Norwich Inn is excellent and the food and service follow suit. Everyone is professional and pleasant, what a great experience we had.

This was the fourth time I've stayed at the Norwich Inn and it just keeps getting better! Very clean, friendly staff, and a very charming experience overall. I love the inn's central location to skiing and sight seeing, including the King Arthur Flour Center. Many locals stop in for food and drink. Great for that long overdue getaway, any season of the year!
