We stay in his inn every year for summer camp drop off or visiting weekend and it is by far the best alternative if one needs to spend a night in the area. Quaint and warm atmosphere with a good restaurant and great beer brewed in the premises.
If it were reasonable priced, we would definitely give it a higher rating, but for the rate they charge, one would expect a higher value for the money one leaves behind...

Room Tip: The main old building has charm but bathrooms are too old and in need of upgrade. The new annex has...

We did not have a reservation and just stopped by...the lady at the dest shared that the hotel was fully booked...despite the late hour, she actually looked up an alternative and provided all the information to help us find a room in a different hotel...next time we are in the area, we will plan better and that includes making a reservation at this beautiful property...

Great location right down the street from Hanover . The attached brew pub is nice good selection of beers on tap , and the restaurant has a great fresh breakfast with many locally grown products. Rooms were pretty small but very clean and staff was very friendly and outgoing

My wife and I stayed a night at the Norwich Inn while visiting the Hanover, NH area this summer, and we were extremely pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of our room. I wish we had been able to stay another night or two so that we could have tried out the ini-house restaurant (which looked very good) and seen a bit more of the surrounding area. Next time we're nearby we'll definitely be paying another visit to the Norwich Inn!

Room Tip: Our room had a ceiling fan and a window AC unit which made for a cool and comfortable nights sleep.

Smack in the middle of a small traditional Vermont town right next to a large general store and across the Connecticut river from Hanover, NH, this quintessential Vermont hotel endeavors to make your stay very comfortable. There is a wonderful pub serving local beers in the back of the old building, and the dining rooms are dripping with old-fashioned Vermont atmosphere. There are, however, modern conveniences, such as wi-fi and a fitness center. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the hotel. We had a substantial breakfast one morning but did not try the restaurant's other meals because of other commitments. The complimentary continental breakfast on the Fourth of July, since the dining room was not in operation, was exceptionally plentiful and good. Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch of the hotel, watching the paint dry, was truly relaxing. And the entire staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

We visited Norwich, VT back in March, 2013 to take a class at the King Arthur Baking Education Center. The Norwich Inn was a short drive away, and seemed like a great place to stay--it was! Nice clean rooms at a reasonable rate. The food in the restaurant was perfect. If you like good beer, then this is definitely the place to stay! They had six or seven beers that were brewed on the premises, all of very high quality. I highly recommend this place!

We stayed for one night when my husband had a meeting in Dartmouth the next day. We had a room in the newer building, not the original inn building, and were upgraded at check-in to a room with a fireplace. The room was great - fireplace was beautiful, flatscreen TV, and very nice furnishings and bathroom. There was a small desk and although the room wasn't huge, it was perfectly fine for our stay and very nice.
We ate dinner that night at the restaurant/pub in the original inn building, and the food was very good. The only downside was that my husband had a sneezing fit that wouldn't stop and we had to cut our dinner short. The only thing we could think of was that it was perhaps triggered by an allergy to something in the building because it was so old, like horsehair plaster. This was a total guess and the only explanation we could think of, but we did think it was probably better that our room was in the newer building! We were able to get our check and take leftovers pretty quickly, so that was good.
They had an easy continental breakfast in the morning and I was able to get us some bagels and juices to go. (Breakfast was in the same pub area so we thought it best not to eat there!) The staff was wonderful, and the location is great and a quick drive to Dartmouth. We were there in the fall, so it was particularly scenic. We'd definitely stay again and would request a room in the newer building due to the allergy issue, although I am sure the rooms in the original inn are lovely!

Room Tip: Note that the new building is more modern, while the inn is more historic. Just good to know if you...
