“Charming Country Inn Just Minutes from Dartmouth College”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

We stayed at the Norwich Inn during our son's wedding and found it to be delightful. Our room was in the old part of the Inn (main building) and was very nicely furnished (with a HUGE 4-poster king size bed). The staff were very friendly and helpful and arranged for breakfast for over 20 people the morning after the wedding (the croissants stuffed with cream cheese and fruit were WONDERFUL)! The Inn may be a little pricey for the budget traveler but well worth the extra money if you budget permits it. Be sure to take time to relax in one of the rocking chairs on the porch and also to visit Dave and Whit's Country Store next door - a fun place to explore. The one drawback that we experienced was that cell phone service in the area (at least with Verizon) was not so great.

Room Tip: The main building lacks elevator service and there are no guest rooms on the ground level, so unless...

My family spent one night in a double queen room in the Walker House. Our room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was also quite large with a really spacious shower. The grounds around the inn were beautiful; the inn was quaint and cozy. I can't speak to the rooms in the main inn or the Ivy House but our room in the Walker House was perfect.

The only negative to staying in the Walker House is that if you want coffee or tea you'll have to walk outside to get to the main inn. Not a big deal for me, but thought I'd mention it so people know what to expect.

We had breakfast at the main inn. They offered a variety of breakfast foods and the view outside was lovely.

If you're looking for a quaint Vermont inn you can't go wrong with The Norwich Inn.

We stay in his inn every year for summer camp drop off or visiting weekend and it is by far the best alternative if one needs to spend a night in the area. Quaint and warm atmosphere with a good restaurant and great beer brewed in the premises.
If it were reasonable priced, we would definitely give it a higher rating, but for the rate they charge, one would expect a higher value for the money one leaves behind...

Room Tip: The main old building has charm but bathrooms are too old and in need of upgrade. The new annex has...

We did not have a reservation and just stopped by...the lady at the dest shared that the hotel was fully booked...despite the late hour, she actually looked up an alternative and provided all the information to help us find a room in a different hotel...next time we are in the area, we will plan better and that includes making a reservation at this beautiful property...

Great location right down the street from Hanover . The attached brew pub is nice good selection of beers on tap , and the restaurant has a great fresh breakfast with many locally grown products. Rooms were pretty small but very clean and staff was very friendly and outgoing

My wife and I stayed a night at the Norwich Inn while visiting the Hanover, NH area this summer, and we were extremely pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of our room. I wish we had been able to stay another night or two so that we could have tried out the ini-house restaurant (which looked very good) and seen a bit more of the surrounding area. Next time we're nearby we'll definitely be paying another visit to the Norwich Inn!

Room Tip: Our room had a ceiling fan and a window AC unit which made for a cool and comfortable nights sleep.

Smack in the middle of a small traditional Vermont town right next to a large general store and across the Connecticut river from Hanover, NH, this quintessential Vermont hotel endeavors to make your stay very comfortable. There is a wonderful pub serving local beers in the back of the old building, and the dining rooms are dripping with old-fashioned Vermont atmosphere. There are, however, modern conveniences, such as wi-fi and a fitness center. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the hotel. We had a substantial breakfast one morning but did not try the restaurant's other meals because of other commitments. The complimentary continental breakfast on the Fourth of July, since the dining room was not in operation, was exceptionally plentiful and good. Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch of the hotel, watching the paint dry, was truly relaxing. And the entire staff was very friendly and helpful as well.
