We love this site, have been coming for years and the sense of peace, the history and the beauty make it my favorite! Knowledgeable docents. You can wander the village at no charge if you don't have time to spend. You will see the Presidents birthplace and the bed he was born in. The homestead is furnished as it was at the time Calvin took the oath of office. Travel back in time at this very special place.

This is the birthplace and childhood home of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States. It has its own Post Office, General Store, Wilder House Restaurant, Church, and Cheese Factory. The Homestead is where Coolidge was sworn in as President. You can see the room still intact with the original Bible used for the Swearing In. The Summer White House used to be over the General Store. The General Store still sells Moxie, the Presidents favorite soda. Don't forget to stop at the cemetery across the street, to view the President's grave site. Stop by this quaint village for an unexpected treat.

We enjoyed walking through the village, seeing President Coolidge's homes and the town he lived in as a boy. The museum regarding his presidency was extremely interesting. It is an absolutely beautiful property and I recommend you visit if you are in Vermont during the summer and fall months.

A small village that is a working town with even a post office, yet, Calvin Coolidge lived there. The Coolidge home is there waiting for you to walk thru, fully furnished. Definitely worth the short picturesque ride as well.
