Spent 1 nice night at the Ranney-Crawford House. Arnie and Diane are very welcoming hosts, who cook a nice breakfast. The room was very comfortable, with a private bathroom. If this is important to you, ask whether your room has an en-suite bathroom, as I think some of them do not. I might be mistaken.

This historic property is located just outside Putney in beautiful in the rolling hills, We loved the experience and would certainly return. The innkeepers were warm people who were helpful in every way. Breakfast was personalized, well done and relaxing. The inn is located near wonderful byways and the owners cater to the special needs of cyclists and people who enjoy the outdoors. We highly recommend the Ranney-Crawford House.

We were fortunate to spend six nights in Putney at the Ranney-Crawford House! Where do I begin? The hosts are very low key but pay attention to all details. They are not "in your face" but will help with any question or concern. Their knowledge of the area is exceptional and recommendations on bike routes, shopping, antiques, farmer's markets, restaurants, etc. was amazing.
Breakfasts were exceptional, especially the fresh blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict. We enjoyed warm hospitality with fresh home-made cookies by the front door. It is an extremely bike friendly b and b with storage for your bike, access to tools, tour itineraries and route tips. We hope to return! Just wish Vermont was not so far away.

I stayed one weekend night in July and enjoyed the stay very much - especially the breakfast, which was one of the best B&B breakfasts I've had in recent memory - and included eggs, fresh berries, and scones. Just perfect. I stayed in Elizabeth's room, which was lovely. I spent little time at the B&B other than to sleep, and to have breakfast, because I was out exploring and attending concerts. Next time I'd love to stay longer!

We stayed 2 nights here in June and loved every minute! The rooms are so clean, beautifully decorated and cozy! Arnie and Diane are such warm, hospitable and talented folks. Diane's breakfasts and baked goodies are scrumptious! We ate every bite! Her paintings adorn the walls and are a delight to view. Arnie's handcrafted furniture pieces are just lovely. I wish he had pieces for sale! We will definitely be back in the fall!

We recently celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary with a weekend of cycling, and stayed at the Ranney-Crawford House. The house is in a beautiful setting surrounded by fields and trees. The house is impeccably maintained with lovely furnishings; Arnie had crafted much of the furniture himself. Lydia's room is pretty and light-filled. The bathroom is the size of a small closet but that was of little importance. Breakfasts were delicious and very satisfying. Diane incorporated home-grown broccoli into a fritatta, her canned pears in yogurt, and she made the most delicious scones. The coffee was excellent too. Arnie provided excellent cue sheets and descriptions of bike routes. Arnie and Diane were wonderful hosts and we hope to visit again.

I spent a fantastic week end at this B&B. The historic home with the stillness of Putney, Vermont and the beautiful setting made me feel totally relaxed and as if I were living in a magical paradise. The home is artistically and historically furnished, the food is divine and the hosts are delightful folks. You simply can't go wrong if you are looking for delicious fare, a delicate romantic bedroom and the beauty of Vermont.
