This lovely B and B had amazing Breakfast that was so good we didn't need to eat until dinner. We stayed 5 nights and we'll stay again as soon as we can. Diane and Arnie were such lovely hosts and amazing cooks. Every night we would come back and find fresh backed cookies and brownies to munch on. We loved it when we shared a glass of wine on the evenings with the hosts or shared a chat over coffee in the morning. We can't wait to come back. Paul and Jeanne

Spent two nights and added a third because the stay was so enjoyable. The rooms were clean and quiet, breakfasts truly delicious, cycling advice helpful, and conversation friendly. It felt like staying with terrific relatives. Arnie and Diane clearly delight in what they do, and they're good at it!

We just wrapped up a three-night stay at the Ranney-Crawford B&B. Diane and Arnie were excellent hosts--warm, friendly, and very hospitable. The B&B itself is in excellent condition and beautifully furnished. (Arnie made many of the pieces himself, including the bed in our room!) We stayed in Elijah's room on the second floor in the front of the house. The queen bed was very comfortable--we slept great each night. There was plenty of space to put our stuff, and to sit and relax. Although the B&B is on something of a main (two lane country) road, traffic during the overnight hours was negligible and didn't disturb our sleep in the least (though we wore earplugs just in case). Breakfasts were outstanding and varied each day. Diane is a fabulous cook; we had home-baked scones, fresh coffee/tea, and eggs, pancakes, frittata, fruit/yogurt cups, etc. No risk of going hungry! We were two cyclists and benefitted greatly from Arnie's thorough local knowledge and recommended bike routes. There was safe bike storage in the garage. The B&B is just 4.5 miles north of Putney, and ideally located for bike rides of varying lengths. We found the roads were quiet, beautiful, and generally well maintained. We enjoyed everything about our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Spent 1 nice night at the Ranney-Crawford House. Arnie and Diane are very welcoming hosts, who cook a nice breakfast. The room was very comfortable, with a private bathroom. If this is important to you, ask whether your room has an en-suite bathroom, as I think some of them do not. I might be mistaken.

This historic property is located just outside Putney in beautiful in the rolling hills, We loved the experience and would certainly return. The innkeepers were warm people who were helpful in every way. Breakfast was personalized, well done and relaxing. The inn is located near wonderful byways and the owners cater to the special needs of cyclists and people who enjoy the outdoors. We highly recommend the Ranney-Crawford House.

We were fortunate to spend six nights in Putney at the Ranney-Crawford House! Where do I begin? The hosts are very low key but pay attention to all details. They are not "in your face" but will help with any question or concern. Their knowledge of the area is exceptional and recommendations on bike routes, shopping, antiques, farmer's markets, restaurants, etc. was amazing.
Breakfasts were exceptional, especially the fresh blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict. We enjoyed warm hospitality with fresh home-made cookies by the front door. It is an extremely bike friendly b and b with storage for your bike, access to tools, tour itineraries and route tips. We hope to return! Just wish Vermont was not so far away.

I stayed one weekend night in July and enjoyed the stay very much - especially the breakfast, which was one of the best B&B breakfasts I've had in recent memory - and included eggs, fresh berries, and scones. Just perfect. I stayed in Elizabeth's room, which was lovely. I spent little time at the B&B other than to sleep, and to have breakfast, because I was out exploring and attending concerts. Next time I'd love to stay longer!
