While camping @ Quechee State Park we ate at "Shepard's Pie Restaurant" with a party of 5.
Three of us had the Fish-and-Chips and it was to die for. The fish had a nice light crust to it and the fries were very good too. The only negative thing I can say is that you only got 1 piece of fish and I believe it was $17.00. For that price I would expect at least two pieces. For a man it was not enough to fill them up. Another one in our party got the Chicken wings and enjoyed that and another one ordered the meatloaf dinner and they said it was good. Our waiter was "Colin" and he was Great!

My family and I came here 30 minutes before closing, but they seated us and were very friendly. The server was a little weird, like she was really nice but pretty sure she took a smoke break at one point. She just seemed a little too hype. The appetizer beet salad was excellent, but the white fish was a little lacking. The complimentary salad bar looked sad. Overall, for the price it wasn't excellent. It had the whole in the wall feel, but 17 bucks for an averaged piece of halibut was excessive.

Overall, if you're in town I would go here for drinks (the blueberry lemonade was very good), and appetizers. The portions are very big.

7/10, would go again.

We ended up in quechee by accident and stayed in the hotel next door. We went for a drink at the bar after visiting the gorge, and decided the menu looked good enough to come back for dinner. We were not disappointed The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. There's a lot on the menu, but we chose the Maine crab cakes to start - they were outstanding, very tasty, well presented, enough but not too much. We both rated them up there against our local up back in the UK , which is high recommendation. For mains we had the chicken salad, and the Vermont burger. Both were really excellent- just the right balance of quantity and quality. It's really refreshing to find a bar/restaurant in the US that realises you don't have to pile the plate high to deliver good food. Stop here and eat. And have the sweet potato fries.

Arrived 1/2 hr before closing and it was not a problem. Four of us had dinner and there was not one complaint out of the group. Our waitress was very personable and had a great sense of humor.. Wasn't rushed to eat up and go. Quite a varied menu and some interesting selections. Would go here again if in the area

Stopped there on a return trip to ocean. The place was open but no one there, it was mid-afternoon. It felt like we were intruding upon them. Bill for one hamburger and two soups of the day was $25. The burger was $11, which is too much. This was the plain jane burger. The soup was tasty, but both my wife and I were very disappointed and may never return. Too bad, this was one of favorites spots in the Upper Valley.
