My wife and I dine at some of the greatest restaurants in the world and know good food. We didn't expect world class dining at this quaint 1793 Vermont Inn, but we got it. The Innkeeper, Rick Trahan, made sure there was a great bottle waiting for us, and provided some interesting wine discussion. Chef Ed Kroes prepared really top quality food, with wonderful sauces he slow cooked all day. Our young waitress, Page, was personable and attentive. A first class experience all around while feeling as if we could be sitting next to Mary Lincoln.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Built in 1793, the inn was originally the home of Colonel Joseph Marsh, Vermont's first lieutenant governor. Since that time, the historic residence has been expanded and carefully restored to maintain as much of the 19th century character and charm as possible, while adding modern conveniences like private baths, cable TV, and air conditioning for all of the guest rooms. ... more less
