On our way North to Waitsfield, Vermont, it was suggested we stop in Quechee and Woodstock and enjoy lunch at Simon Pearce. We were pleased we did and will now recommend it to others. This is a charming area and was worth the brief visit for us. It is not only picturesque but we enjoyed our food and the unique setting over the river and waterfall looking at the covered bridge. The Vermont cheddar soup, beet salad with chevre, lamb burger and beef stew were all delicious and satisfying. After eating we were happy to take a look downstairs at the glass blowing demonstration. This was fascinating and a must if you are interested in gaining an appreciation for all things glass.
