“A worthy escapade from the city”

A 2:15 hours drive from Boston, this gem is by the Ottauquechee River on Vermont over looking a mini water fall. In the basement, the glass furnace is full blast, and artisans are busy blowing glass. The ground floor is where the glassware is exhibited, and we couldn't resist buying a couple of pieces. The choice of food is good, it is an American New England cuisine, I had the fish and chips which was a delight, so was the trout. Leave some space for desert. After lunch, one can take a walk along the river or sit and watch the beautiful nature.

“Special Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

While visiting the Simon Pearce Factory, we decided to have lunch there if we could get a table for two by the windows. We did get a great table with a spectacular view of the Falls and Covered Bridge. The food was delicious, no more expensive then any other restaurant in the area, served on the beautiful Simon Pearce pottery and glassware. The server was delightful and we never felt rushed. A very special place for lunch or dinner.

“A Delightful Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

We had lunch with foodie friends from Charleston and we were delighted by the ambiance, the table by the window and a charming and helpful waiter. Brian was up on his gluten knowledge! That aside, lunch was superb from drinks to dessert. We had both the tomato white bean and their famous Vermont cheddar cheese soups. Both were outstanding. Our entrees ranged from the lamb burger to the curried chicken salad, to the sesame chicken. All were way beyond delectable. Three of the group had the sorbet and ice cream. I am still in ecstasy over the Walnut Merengue with Strawberry Sauce. It was a perfect repast for a sunny summer day on the river.

“Outstanding meal from start to finish”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

The setting is very airy and open. The server was excellent and very engaging. We did not have any appetizers, save for a cup of the special Potato and Leek soup (which was fantastic), however everyone loved their entrees and the desserts.

It is not an inexpensive restaurant by any stretch but it was an excellent meal and I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion.
