“Avoid like the Plaque”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

Checked into one room, carpet stained, windows broken. Demanded to be moved to a different room.

Next room I got had carpet stains, towels were stained, bedding had stains. I pulled back the fitted sheet and there was bedbugs.

Pointed the bedbugs out to mgr on duty, was refunded my stay and I left.

I stayed at this place with my husband and our kids. The web site shows a nice place to sit to eat the 'free continental breakfast' which there was no such place. The free breakfast consisted if a loaf of white bread a loaf of wheat and some no frills honey buns.

As far as cleanliness, it was ok. There were a few dust bunnies in a corner here or there. No biggie. There weren't any anti-slip strips in the shower. That is a safety hazard.

I was also disappointed by the size of the room, again the pictures on the site are false. The room is not the same and much smaller. It did the job, I'm not sure if we'd attempt it again though.

This motel was nice although the rooms were a bit different in terms of the amenities offered. I found mine to be cozy, the bed comfy and I was equipped with a coffee-maker, microwave, mini fridge, AC and toiletries. My boyfriend explained that his room did not have a coffee maker, the fridge was half the size of mine and his tub was apparently not something he'd want to take a bath in. Both his and mine had pretty scuzzy looking carpets so wear socks while staying here. While the carpet wasn't the best, the general 'feel' was clean and very decently priced. Free WIFI, too.

Room Tip: Arrive before 10pm as the office closes at this time. Bring in an extra pair of socks to wear while...

The room was dirty. There was a trampled biscuit on the floor, the bed sheets smelled musty, the bathroom was full of mold and we found quite a few hairs from prior occupants. Though the bed was firm, we didn’t sleep as well as we could have because we just were not sure about the cleanliness of the bed sheets. Given the price and type of motel our expectations were not high, but the one thing hotel management can do is to make sure the rooms are clean. It was clear that they didn’t even try.

This place was DISTGUSTINGLY DIRTY!!!! The bathroom ceiling was FALLING DOWN!! The shower/tub looked like it had NEVER been washed. The owners obviously don't care what shape this place is in. I am VERY surprised it has NOT been shut down. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!! The "continental breakfast" consisted of a donut (which had bites taken out of it) and stale bread. RIP OFF!!!

Room Tip: Rooms in a dumpster are better!!!!

This place is pretty shabby. Rooms are small and in need of some serious updating but they're clean, as long as you keep your shoes on. We were travelling with 5 other couples and everyone found the beds super comfortable. Some of the long-term guests were a little scary-looking and overall, the place is a dump but at $54/night, we weren't expecting much. The kids at the desk were very helpful and the breakfast (toast and coffee) was ok. Be aware that there are 2 Rodeway Inns in Rutland and this one is not within walking distance of any restaurants that are worth walking to whereas the one on Woodstock Ave is a lot more "central". If I had to do it again, I'd book somewhere else...

Cheapest place I saw in the area, esp with travel coupon. (off-season) But I had 4 different kinds of flying insects, one in abundance. Had to smush them all before I felt ok to go to sleep. (But I checked and didn't find bed bugs, hooray.)

Otherwise it would have been more or less tolerable. Staff was pleasant. Appliances (esp AC) worked fine. The rest was so-so, just what I'd expect in an older motel.
