We try to stay in locally owned hotels rather than chains. We have stayed here before and planned to stay one night. Check-in was complicated by an Expedia reservation issue, but the front desk person was very helpful in straightening it out. Rate that very good. Our thanks to her. Our room was okay. Rate that average.
When we arrived for “breakfast” at 8:00 am the next day, we were offered two types of cold cereal, tiny store-bought muffins, English muffins, grape jam in tiny packages, and weird pancakes that slid out of a machine. The pancake syrup was fake (inexcusable in Vermont). No fruit, no yogurt. Although juice and milk were on the menu, they had run out. Finally, the front desk dispatched a housekeeper to fetch milk and juice. The dining area consisted of two small tables in the smallish lobby of the hotel, which must have about 50 rooms and was fully booked. The tables were not cleaned between users. The trash can was overflowing. It was an unpleasant and unsatisfying breakfast. Rate that poor.
The hotel should just forget the free “breakfast,” and give guests a break on the room cost, which is overpriced in our opinion.

Great experience all around. Rooms are clean and surprisingly spacious. New owners are investing in upgrades to the property. Staff was friendly and responsive to all requests, and very understanding of our four legged kid. We will be back!

We arrived at the Fairbanks Inn and had to ring a bell to get service, as the help was outside, but got into our room, which was wonderful, clean, balcony, small frig, great bed, breakfast was provided, owner's son was so nice and we really enjoyed speaking with him. The only negative was most of the restaurants were closed until Memorial Day, so it was difficult finding food. Ended up ordering pizza from a neighboring town. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed walking around town some.

Room Tip: Not sure, but we had a nice quiet stay

Considering the 1 night stay, I appreciated the room for the spaciousness, refrigerator in room, and convenience to highways, gas and convenience stores. Hotel front desk rep friendly. Room was clean.

First there was confusion about which room we were assigned because housekeeping had not cleaned them all. We were escorted upstairs and then backdown because of the confusion. We ended up in a room that smelled like stale cigarette smoke even though it was deemed smoke free.
The room was large but dated. The fan is the bathroom sounded like a jet engine.
It is close to the highway and there not many choices but I can’t recommend this place.
