You will have gathered from the other reviews that this is not a 'full' restaurant - rather it is an eating area within Harrington's shop. Both are excellent.
The shop has a goregeous, unmistakeable smell which I recognised immediately - a full 20 years on (I was a toddler when I last visited)! It is a smell of bacon, maple, bread and wood - if they could bottle the scent, they would make a fortune. As it is they'll do well enough simply selling their ham.
We had chili in the eating area which was - cliche alert - the best chili I have ever had. I have attempted to replicate it since, without 100% success (Harrington's do not deliver to the UK). It is not a traditional tex-mex recipe in any way but is beautiful spiced and seasoned, made with chunky sausagemeat and fresh green peppers. I ate it greedily straight from the pot with nothing more than a spoon and a smile. Wholesome food in a lovely, informal location.
I would urge you to stop by if you are driving past or in the area.
