We checked in at 8 pm. There were 3 parties ahead of us at the desk, where there was one person working. It took 15 minutes to get checked in....sort of. There were 4 people on our reservation and when we went to our 3rd floor room, there were 2 headboards....but only one bed. Back to the desk I went. The desk person was baffled and assigned us another room. After dragging our gear to another floor, we attempted to unlock the door. The door did not open. A second later a man opened the door. It had already been assigned. Back to the desk, again. The last assignment worked out nicely. The room was decent. It was clean. The bathroom was hilariously small...barely room to close the door. Light cold continental breakfast. The pool was nice.

The front desk was very polite and helpful. We were given a room at the far end of the hall but was told to park at the end of the building go up 4 stairs and it was the first door. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. I would have liked a larger bathroom and more information about the inn itself such as times for pool and check-out. There was a notebook about restaurants in the area, which if I hadn't known the area would have been helpful. The rate was reasonable. The pool was clean with towels available and there is a shallow area with seating. I would recommend this inn and stay there again if the opportunity arises. However, be aware there are stairs to the rooms.

Upon reading the other reviews I think to myself, "what was really so bad about this place?" And the answer is nothing. Our room wasn't dirty, we even used the hot tub and ate some of the continental breakfast. If your expecting something ritzy for the price, this isn't the place for you. But it was clean and comfortable which was good enough for me.

Upon entering the motel there was a terrible smell of stale smoke and air freshner as a cover up, very humid stagnant air no fresh air ventilation, going into the room there was old cereal on the floor under desk, old socks and dirt dehind dresser looking for a plug for cell phone, stains on bedding. Took grandskids to pool it was dirty clumps of hair floating on top of the water ,spiders ,bugs would not want to think of what mght be in the spa?.The grandkis cried they could not use the pool. This issue was never taken care of by staff nor were they helpfull . We will never stay in this mess again, and would not advise anyone else even if was the last place to get a room, By which cost me $ !65.00 for this disaster....Wayne Emerson Saranac NY

We needed accommodations for an overnight stay both before and after a flight out of Burlington International Airport. The Anchorage Inn is working toward improving its facilities; no smoking anywhere in the motel has just gone into effect. Meanwhile, the hotel is repainting even those rooms that were formerly non-smoking, so there should be very little smoking odor anywhere. The manager is extremely efficient and friendly. She is revamping the rooms--some of which were rather down-at-the-heels. The beds are great, housekeeping does an excellent job, and pillows and fine towels are an extra luxury. The bath shows its age--toilet seat is chipped--but tub and shower and sink were clean, which is a must with the two of us. Free parking is a plus, as is being across from University Mall, the largest indoor mall in Vermont. Easy walking distance to dining and shopping. One reviewer mentioned seeing police outside and two inside searching the rooms. No such activity was observed on our visit...and this is perhaps because manager and staff keep a sharp lookout for any disturbances of any kind. All in all Anchorage Inn is a place we would stay again...and recommend to friends who are headed for Burlington for an overnight stay. "Average" rating is because of the "tired" appearance of rooms and hallways. Also, be aware that there are stairs to climb and no elevator.

Room Tip: Air conditioning is excellent. As noted above, there are stairs...but good hand rails and all stair...

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was polite and friendly. The breakfast was continental style with a very reasonable choice of fresh fruit, yogurt, boxed cereal, and individually packaged donuts. Coffee is available 24/7. The towels were as plentiful, plush, clean and fresh smelling as any high end hotel I've stayed in. The house keepers do an excellent job. Yes the shower/ tub and commode are in a small enclosure and the sink is outside the enclosure. But they are clean and adequate with plenty of hot water. Yes the television is older and has a slight green tint. So what. I didn't stay there to watch television. All in all, it is a very good value for the money and I would stay there again.

Drove up to front door to see 2 police cars parked outside. Sitting in the lobby was a man with no shirt on. On way to room saw police officers searching rooms. In our room there eere many stains on carpets, shower did not work, curtain had mold and there were foreign hairs on the wall. Could be a very nice place with some tlc.
