We drove the notch and the views and natural phenomena alone were worth the drive. You add the history of the area during prohibition and it's amazing. We will do this drive every time we are in the Stowe area. We also love stopping and exploring around the GIANT boulders and caves at the top of the notch.

We biked up from Stowe. Hardest climb ever. 31% grade at its worst! Incredible vistas and the longest downhill after you make it.

do not miss ArborTrek if around the park - I took my 7 year old twins and we all had a complete blast.

Great for walking the dogs and having them swim in the lake along the way. Bring you bug spray! There are many people on the weekends during peak season, but midweek, it can be a ghost town.

I've driven a lot of curvy, crazy roads being from the mountains in tn. This one is as crazy but this gorge is narrow with high awesome cliffs. The fallen rocks with the trees growing along the top of them with the roots twisting among them is fascinating. I enjoyed the time spent there.
