The inn was comfortable and welcoming. The room was spacious and well appointed (Brita water in the room - what a nice touch!) The breakfast was good and the owners enthusiastic. It is worth a repeat visit.

Our family (my husband and I, our 19 y/o daughter and my mother) stayed at the inn for 2 nights on a recent vacation. Mary Anne and George are so gracious and hospitable. Our room and the shared areas of the B&B (dining room, living room, recreation room) were gorgeous and relaxing to spend time in. And the breakfast was amazing. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely return if we have the opportunity.

My husband and I came to stay for a much needed getaway. How wonderful to arrive at the Brass Lantern! Mary Anne and George are gracious and kind, and really do make you feel at home. We stayed in the Mt. Mansfield room- absolutely gorgeous. Clean, comfortable, with wonderful views of the mountains. Bed is extremely comfortable. Care is taken in every area of this B&B...cookies, coffee and tea in the afternoon? Great! Those breakfasts that George makes every morning? DELICIOUS. Mary Anne was very helpful about places to eat, hikes, etc. We had a very lovely day hiking based on her recommendations, as well as some great meals. I felt that the room was extremely affordable for what you get here. It is not just a room, it really feels like you are staying with friends.
Thank you Mary Anne and George, for your wonderful hospitality. I am going to tell everyone traveling to Stowe to come stay at the Brass Lantern! It certainly does not disappoint. :)

Room Tip: We loved the Mt. Mansfield room...it feels like a nice little apartment and the views are awesome :)

On our recent trip to Stowe, Vermont we stayed at the Brass Lantern Inn which we found online through great reviews. The B&B was awesome, more like being home, and George was the most gracious host. Everything about the inn was wonderful, from the sumptuous breakfast to the ambience of the room with a fireplace. Loved the hot tub also. It was quiet yet close to town and we loved it so much that we stayed an extra night. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Stowe. Thanks George. From Tom and Gail in Montana

Thank you Tom and Gail for this very nice note, for extending your stay, and for peaking my interest in your corner of paradise in Montana. Glacier National Park is now at the top of my bucket list!

And I so enjoyed our chats and wish Mary Anne had had the opportunity to meet you as well (out attending a family wedding out of state that weekend).

It really was my pleasure to host you that weekend and am greatly rewarded by your comments and with the memories of your stay.

Best Always,
George

I took an impromptu solo trip to Stowe, Vermont during a vacation from work and stayed at the Brass Lantern Inn for three nights. The inn itself is situated along the highway and my only complaint -- a very small one -- is that the sound of the cars at night can be a bit noisy. Other than that, the service was impeccable. The room I stayed in was clean and cozy and had a beautiful view of Mount Mansfield; breakfast was delicious and the staff was happy to accommodate any dietary needs; and even though I was coming to a fairly rural area without a car, it was an easy walk from the inn into town, accompanied by spectacular views of the Green Mountains. Truly a perfect experience and I'd recommend the Brass Lantern Inn strongly to anyone.

Thank you for your comments and stay. We are humbled by your headline of “Perfect.” We were pleased to read that you appreciated our efforts to provide you with a stress eliminating weekend. Your comments are truly a gift to our small, family-owned and operated business.

We have hosted many guests who have enjoyed their stay without the need of a car to get here or to explore the area. Fortunately, it is still possible for guests to arrive by Amtrak train through the Stowe/Waterbury station; just a 10 to 15 min. cab/shuttle ride away. As you discovered, the walk into town along Maple Street, from our Inn, is an easy one, providing the casual walker with those ever present views of Mt. Mansfield (ok, maybe not when it is snowing!!).

We are sorry that the rural traffic on Maple Street did not meet your expectations (even as small of a concern as you state), as rest and revitalization is our primary goal as your Innkeepers. And depending on your sensitivity to the vehicular traffic on Maple Street, we do have several rooms in the Inn that only have exposure on the Mt. Mansfield side of the building. We would have been very happy to relocate you to one of those rooms if we had had that awareness at that time.

Thank you for your trust in us to provide you with a relaxing getaway. We certainly hope we can host you again soon and if you return via train, please call us in advance and we can arrange a complimentary shuttle pick up from the train station.

Kindest Regards,
George and Mary Anne

My wife and I stayed hear for a long weekend getaway and we were blown away as to how gracious the owners were and how nice the inn was overall.

We have stayed at several B&B's in Vermont and this was the nicest one by far.

It's the small touches that put this inn above every one else such as the chocolate left in your room every day and the different kinds of luxury toilettes they put in your bathroom for the guests.

My wife and I have stayed in expensive hotels that done go out of there way as much as the inn keepers did for us so if that's not a testimony to how great this place was I don't know what is.

We very much appreciate your stay and are greatly rewarded by your comments here. We are most appreciative to know that we are at the top of your Vermont B&B list as we know there are several very good B&B's within this state.

And we do think that the details all add up to creating a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Thank you for noticing and sharing your observations.

We hope you can return again soon!

We just returned from a delightful weekend at the Brass Lantern Inn. Maryanne and George were perfect hosts. They were very personable and inviting, and offered a number of helpful tips that assured that we made the most of our time in Vermont. Breakfast was delicious, with George cooking up quiche on Saturday, and French Toast on Sunday, paired with fresh fruits and pastries.

We stayed in the Mansfield Room. In addition to a beautiful view of Mount Mansfield, the room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and charming, with a gas fireplace and a number of great amenities. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. The fresh pitcher of water and ice was also nice touch.

The location can't be beat. It's just a 2-3 minute drive to central Stowe, about a 15 minute drive to Waterbury, and is situated near numerous Green Mountain sites.

All of this serene comfort was very affordable. My wife and I highly recommend the Brass Lantern.

Room Tip: The Mt. Mansfield Room was fantastic. Spacious, with a great view of Mt. Mansfield, and still very...
