“Beautiful lodge and brilliant innkeepers!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

I have just recently returned from a one week ski trip at Stowe, staying in the northern lights lodge. I just wanted to write this review to say that we had an absolutely fantastic time staying at the hotel - the place itself is full of character, with large spacious and beautifully kept rooms and a fantastic swimming pool with sauna jacuzzi etc to chill out in after a hard days riding on the mountain.

And I would like to say a huge personal thank you to Mike and Shannon, the innkeepers, who were absolutely brilliant, they really made our stay so special. They were always kind and always happy to help with anything...even early in the mornings! :) everyone I stayed with said that it was their favourite ever ski trip, in large part due to the warmth and care of our hosts and the beauty of the lodge itself. I would recommend a trip here wholeheartedly and look forward to my next stay!!! Thanks guys!!! :)

We stayed here for a week on a school ski trip. The location is perfect for skiing only 5-10 minutes from Stowe resort and all the slopes. The hotel could not have done any more for us. On arrival there were drinks and cookies in reception. The rooms were all a great size and had all the essentials. The bathrooms were large and clean. It was brilliant to have the pool and sauna onsite to allow the students to chill out after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was brilliant with a range of hot and cold home made options. Mike and Shannon were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much effort for them. They catered to our every need and made the stay so comfortable. Its great to have the restaurant room and bar room to sit in and meet with students when needed. We cannot thank the hosts enough for what was a great week of skiing and fun. We hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Rooms to the back overlook the stream

Have stayed here two years in a row on a Stowe Weekend Ski trip and highly recommend. Very hospitable and the breakfast is pretty amazing! Neat pool and hot tub area which is perfect for hitting up after the slopes.

Stayed at the Northern Lights Lodge in mid-March to ski at Stowe. Having booked over the phone and spoken with Mike directly, I was very impressed by his cheerful helpfulness. My son and I could not have been more pleased. We got there around 8:30pm on a Friday night and were informed that dinner options might be sparse, but the owner, Mike, offered to make some calls. We opted to go pick up some carry out pizza, and were set. The next day, on the mountain, I realized I had not brought my Stowe guide book with me. Mike had offered to make reservations at any time, so I called the hotel. Good to his word, he made a couple of calls, secured a reservation, and we were able to enjoy our day of skiing, knowing that our dinner plans had been taken care of.

This kind of service went way beyond any expectation. Add to that a fabulous location, minutes from the mountain, delicious breakfast, including bacon and scones, served on REAL dishes with REAL silverware in a comfortable setting, made for a great ski experience when we were in Stowe. I did not use the pool or hot tub, but it looked pristine and inviting as we walked by. If I return to Stowe, will not have to look for a place to stay - will definitely book Northern Lights Lodge. Thank you Mike and Shannon!

I book a ski vacation to Stowe every March and love this lodge. It is comfortable and the owners are very accomodating, warm and friendly people. They put out a great hot breakfast every morning that is very delicious and satisfing, there is often home made baked goods too. The lodge is very close to the mountain which means I can get to the slopes quickly in the morning. The rooms are charming and clean and many have a mini fridge for storing apre snacks and drinks. It is a great place to stay and a great value. I am looking forward to visiting in the summer as well. Great location close to hiking and biking rec reation trail at Stowe.

A great time again! I would recommend Northern Lights for the best value on the mountain!
We had over 100 people in our group and Mike and Shannon bent over backwards to accommodate us! Will not go to any other place on Stowe again! Been coming here for 20
years, and stayed at every hotel and lodge on the access road, This is by far the friendliest
and best value! Great Hosts! Bravo Mike and Shannon!

Room Tip: Any room! Choose one that doesn't face the road if you are a light sleeper
