“Charming Inn off the beaten path”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

This inn reminds me of a ski chalet! The drive up to the inn is absolutely beautiful, of course we were there in the fall so there was a lot of color. The room is not fancy at all, but it is clean and we had a back door to the balcony with a breathtaking view! Most of the staff were friendly, especially the bar staff! We wanted to sit outside by the pool on a Sunday night and asked if they would build us a fire in the firepit. They were happy to do it, even though they don't normally do that on Sundays.

The buffet breakfast was very good and you have to check out the elevator, but you have to find it first!

If you are looking for new and updated, this is not your place. But if you want a quiet place in the mountains, check it out. It is well worth the price!

What a wonderful weekend at the Stowehof Inn in Stowe, VT. This was my first stay at the Stowehof and it was delight. The staff was amazing and the accomodations were delightful and then there was the food! Truly a wonderful experience! Oh, and I almost forgot the scenery - we saw the most beautiful sunrise and the chickadees were fun to watch. I highly recommend the Stowehof for conventions or a just a weekend away.

Our group of 70 women were thoroughly impressed with Stowehof. Comfy clean rooms excellent meals served on time and hot to 70 diners No small feat! Staff assured hot and cold beverages in full supply for all meeting sessions and supported us graciously. We will return happily next year. Ps i first visited here 60years ago and the unique beauty and grace of Stowehof hasn't changed. A rare and lovely place.

I have been coming to Stowehof for several years for our women's retreat. If you enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the green mountains and a rustic atmosphere you will enjoy your experience at the Stowehof. The staff are very solicitous and willing to provide whatever you need. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and each room is unique. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a nice quiet weekend away. Angie

Loved our 3-night stay at Stowehof during our family vacation this past August. We had perfect weather for the pool which was a but cold, but very clean. The pool deck and hotel look out over the valley with Mt. Mansfield towering opposite. The grounds were immaculate.

The hotel is dated and that is the charm. The place is like one giant cottage with all the homey feel of a place that has been well-loved for many years. The bookshelf, knick-knacks and eclectic decorations all add to the charm. The dining room has a great view. Relaxing in the common area and game nook were favourites of ours. Loved the bookshelf stocked with old classics and odd finds.

Our room had a king and a pull-out for our 2 girls. The king was super comfortable, the pullout was okay. Small flatscreen in the room. Seemed like there had been a sale on mirrors - several surfaces were covered with them - all part of the funky decor. We had a patio door on the ground floor - just walk out to the pool. Lovely cool mountain air at night and super quiet. The bathroom was a decent size. Everything was newly painted and looked very clean.

The desk staff were very helpful, with the one exception that we had asked for an early check-out and been told it was no problem. In the morning no one was on the desk. Thankfully the lady who had helped us secure an additional night (can't remember her name, should have written it down) had come in early to do some other work and checked us out. Thanks!

The one disappointment was that the hot tub seemed neglected. It wasn't hot and one of the jets was broken. It wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice after hiking to the summit of the mountain!

Really loved this place and would consider a winter visit to do some skiing. Super cozy and a great spot for family or for a couples getaway.

I will be back.. I was looking for a place to reset my self.. i found it.. Amazing time.. Very accommodating staff.. Highly recommend.. The breakfast buffet was delicious!! The Martinis perfect!! Beautiful walking trail just yards away. Close to town but yet you feel like your a million miles away when your there.. The only disappointment was the indoor pool was very cold and the hot tub needed new jets.. The sauna was great.. Molly who checks you in was as friendly as a best friend ... Cannot say enough about the staff..
