“Expensive and short ride. Driver funny.”

Expensive for a ride that was 2X around a small area. liked the carriage driver, funny and gave history plus personality of the horse.

“a great experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2013

ok, i'll start this off by saying i might be a little bias: I got engaged on one of these sleigh rides! So lets get down to it, it's $80 for a ~20 minute ride, but if you're looking for something enjoyable and special to do while in Stowe, this is it! The owners are very friendly, it's not like those people that run the christmas tree farms that are just there to take your money. The horse was friendly (which is important because of course everyone wants to take photos). The ride is relaxing; it's through 2 pastures and some trails in the woods by a river. The sound of the sleigh bells and the warmth of the blanket they give you, this is really one of those experiences you'll remember forever. Granted, you have to swallow the price, but like i said, this is truly something to enjoy if this is along the lines of what you're looking for.

“Nice, peaceful ride with sleigh bells”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2013

At $80.00 for 2 for 20 minutes, it is a bit pricey, but I realize how much money goes into caring for these beautiful horses. Heck, we just paid over $260.00 for a 30 minute dog sledding ride the day before up in Eden. (see my separate review on that on Trip Advisor). Both were things we always wanted to do. We visit Stowe a couple of times per year, but in the summer, and we bike the recreation path in the warmer months. This time was our first in winter, so off we went on the sleigh ride. Rochelle, the owner, was our driver, and Jack was our handsome horse. We rode the trail along the recreation path, covered in a warm blanket. Jack sure can trot! Rochelle was pleasant. After the ride, Rochelle said we could pet Jack, put he wasn't up to being petted. He was anxious for the pails of water Rochelle brought him. I recommend this for people who want the experience of a lovely New England setting for a sleigh ride.

“Sleigh Ride with Scottie, Jack & Max”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2013

There was 7 of us out for the sleigh ride at the Gentle Giant's Sleigh and Carriage Rides. It was very enjoyable!!! Scottie, Jack & Max worked very well together. It is a must do - 25 minute ride through the woods, beside a stream and in fields - Awesome thing to do while you are in Stowe....

“Too short!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2013

Great scenery, warm welcome, informative and fun driver Mike, handsome horse Clayton and lots of snow falling should equal 5 stars. For us the 25 scant minutes (maybe 22) was just too short for $96. If you've never done it, I would still recommend. We paid the same a couple of years ago for a longer ride.
