We had high expectations of Harrison's and were delighted with our experience. Everything was right -- food, presentation, service, ambiance. Be sure to make reservations since it's small and very popular.

We found a very charming restaurant in Stowe; it is where the locals dine. One gentleman who was waiting for his table called it "Stowe's best kept secret." It is extremely popular and for good reason; they offer many selections on their menu; entrees average about $20 and the food is delicious -- KUDOS to the chef, he/she is very creative. Portions are moderate, but you wont leave hungry and you certainly will want to return again! I would recommend making reservations the day before.

This is a basement. A small, very warm basement, with awkward and cramped seating. I had very oily/rubbery calamari and a grilled rib eye that was gray and brown because it was obviously cooked on a flat top griddle.

My wife and I read the other reviews, so we gave the 2nd best restaurant in Stowe a try... HUGE MISTAKE. I suggest strongly that you consider going elsewhere.

We always eat at Harrisons when we are ski-ing at Stowe. We book a table before we leave the UK as it is so popular that if you leave it until the last minute you risk not being able to get a reservation. Last year my husband had a “special” called Lobster Mac, which he absolutely loved so when we went back this year he was hoping to have it again. Unfortunately it was not on the menu but when we were talking to the waiter saying how much my husband had been looking forward to it, the waiter said that if he wanted a Lobster Mac, they would cook it especially for him. Wow, now that is what we call exceptional customer service !

Very friendly greeting by host. Server a bit stiff, but competent, quick, and non intrustive. We had requested a back booth in the corner and got it (we had an early reservation). We love the ambiance--quiet and romantic. The booths add privacy like no other restaurant we've been to in Stowe. We began with tomato/saffron soup--an incredible culinary experience--impossible to put words to such an exquisite flavor. My spouse got the trout special and loved it. I got the shrimp and scallop scampi--very flavorable; a bit sparse in serving portion. But at least we both had room for dessert! Mocha cheese cake to die for and chocolate decadence cake as well! And we were very pleased with the price. With two glasses of wine and a cocktail, the price was around $90. HIGHLY recommend for quiet and romance--recommend an early reservation before the crowd arrives.
