I stayed for a whole week at the hotel in order to visit the ski resort. It was a general pleaseful experience, but I think reviews are slighty overestimated. I recognize the place is good and very fair, but it is more inclined to a simple form of accomodation rather than an uforgettable stay like some reviwers are putting. The inn is a historical site, very well mantained and in good conditions. It does have an elevator and parking is easy. Rooms are nice, I just think they abuse the use of wallpapers and tend to offer a slightly kitsch environment but ok. Bathroom was always colder than room, even adjusting the main temperature all the time (-2F outside). Pool was closed. Good wifi and TV. Staff was always nice and promptly answered all the questions we had. Breakfast was good, they have a 2 option meal, one of them includes omlets, waffles etc and the other is basically dairy and carbohydrates. There is a convenient shuttle provided by the town that goes up to the mountain; location is very good. Restaurant in site (Whip) is good and there are others nearby. Would stay here again if I ever return to Stowe.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Green Mountain Inn with us. I’m very happy to hear that you will return and stay with us on possible future trips to Stowe. I can certainly understand that our style of decor may not be pleasing to every person however, I am very happy to read that you were fully impressed by our staff and our convenient location. I will have our Maintenance Engineers look into any potential problems with the heat issues you mentioned and I thank you for alerting me to this concern. There are certain times when the temperatures drop below 0 degrees, which causes us to close the pool, as minus degrees can be harmful to spend any amount of time in. I hope during your next visit you will be able to enjoy all that our Inn has to offer and I thank you for your review.

We stayed at this hotel before heading up to ski. The hotel is nice and quaint and the people were very nice. Our room was fairly small but very nice. The price was very competitive. We ate in the restaurant and the good and service was good. Overall a very good stay.

We visited the Green Mountain Inn beginning Dec. 26th- a very busy time for the area. Everyone was so pleasant, and right away it felt cozy and welcoming. We got two rooms and an apartment- our family is with us. The beds are fluffy, with high quality pillows and linens (important to me). Fabulous location for our group (mid-20 year old offspring), so in-town location is great.
Our only issue is the apartment, which with just a bit of attention would be perfect. The biggest issue is the lack of a proper rug at the entrance, and with the snow, gravel and dirt from the parking lot tracked in, the floor is a perpetual mess. Along the same vein, we have a kitchen, but only a sad dishtowel (no dishcloth or sponge), difficult to keep tidy. The upstairs bedroom/bath is fine; they clearly know how to do bedrooms, but are learning about apartments! Tyler at the front desk is warm and personable, and everyone we've encountered has been equally nice.

It’s always nice to hear when the staff at the Green Mountain Inn creates a memorable occasion for our guests, ensuring that each and every person that visits has an exceptional experience. I fully encourage our guests to reach out to any staff member to assist with their needs and during any future stays, please don’t hesitate to let us know what we can do to make your family’s stay more comfortable. Your recommendation for an entrance floor mat and an increased availability of kitchen dish towels will be acted upon promptly. Thank you for sharing your experience with me and I look forward to having you as guests again soon.

My teenage daughter and I recently decided to spend a quiet mother-daughter weekend at The Green Mountain Inn in Stowe, Vermont. It was an extraordinary weekend! Between the exceptional accommodations (including a cozy fireplace), fantastic food at their restaurant (The Whip), incredibly relaxing massages at their newly renovated massage facility and a peaceful and delicious buffet breakfast, we couldn't have had a better time. One of he highlights was their amazing fire pit where we were given specially prepared s'mores kits (marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, sticks and even wipes to clean our hands afterwards). It was so much fun to sit around the fire and melt our marshmallows, especially because it was cold and the fire kept us toasty warm. I highly recommend a weekend at the Inn. It is in the center of Stowe village so there's so much to do.

This hotel is beautiful and worth the price. We had a deluxe king room in one of the buildings in the back and it was one of the largest rooms I have ever had. It had a beautiful, large bathroom with a glassed in shower and earthy tile. Beautiful entryway with french doors, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and a 4 poster king bed. Also had a balcony. Parking can be tough late in the day. Our only issues were that the shower door leaked and our coffee maker did not work. We reported it to the front desk on the first morning of our stay in hopes that it would get fixed that day, but it did not. I would definitely stay there again.

We ate in the Main Room restaurant of the Green Mountain Inn on both Thanksgiving day and on Christmas Day. On both occasions the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the food was excellent. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant was first class on both occasions.

My boyfriend and I picked this hotel a little by chance since it was our first time visiting Stowe, and we feel lucky we stubbled upon this gem. The hotel was simply amazing and is officially our designated place to stay for our next visit to town. Who could resist a heated outdoor pool, great breakfast, outdoor fire pit (complementary smore kit avail. at the front desk), an abundance of free parking and of course very clean rooms (bed was like sleeping on a cloud) and a welcoming staff. Aside from the actual hotel its location was perfect, we could walk to restaurants, a park with a great tobogganing and many little shops.
