“Amazing Hotel and Wonderful Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2014 via mobile

Stay at this hotel during recent trip to Stowe. Purchased ski stay package. It was awesome. Staff is very accommodating on everything. Nothing a problem to them. The hotel itself is just beautiful, quaint and charming. The common areas are exceptionally inviting and cozy. They make you relax just being there enjoying the surroundings. They have plenty of different games on tables to enjoy by yourself, family or with others. The decor throughout is very tasteful and pleasant. My room was spotless, well appointed and spacious. Had plenty of closet space and hangers to dry ski clothes. Had refrigerator, Keurig, iron and board, comfortable chairs, etc. The beds were beyond awesomely comfortable. Experienced no noises from other guests while in room. Very quiet. The outdoor pool and spa area are so relaxing and a must do. Visit this wonderful hotel and encounter its fantastic environment. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Wow! Amazing place. Like going back in time, but with all the commodities of 2014:) decoration and furniture is sooo romantic and not cheesy at all. Nice gaz fireplace and bath, really comfortable 4 posters bed. Liked that we can rent movies at the frontdesk for a small amount of money. Outside year round heated pool and spa (was a must since it rained so muche when we went that we were not able to ski). This place definitely saved our weekend. Breakfast was amazing. So much delicious pastries! The gentleman who welcomed us at the entrance even spoke a little french to us when He realised we were from quebec. that was a simple but really client oriented gesture. Front desk helpful in finding restaurants, call tacis or get bus schedule. The bar was cool too for late night drink: They even had trivial pursuit game cards! Loved this place. Will definitely go back.

Room Tip: We liked the old part of the inn for its "back in time" feeling, furniture and decoration.

I am thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful getaway at the Green Mountain Inn! I certainly appreciate your kind words about our staff and your lovely descriptions of your favorite parts of your stay. The weather doesn’t always cooperate, so it makes us happy to be able to make the most out of our guests’ stays and provide them with an array of activities to make up for the inclement weather. It would be my pleasure to welcome you back to our Inn and I thank you for your kind review.

Stayed here in March, and must say my favorite thing was the well kept, very clean good sized outdoor heated jacuzzi, and same for the LARGE heated outdoor swimming pool ! The room was as pretty as the pictures, with a very comfortable queen bed. We had room 201 (classic room) which is bright corner unit with windows on two sides with partial mountain views as well as views onto main street. There is also a large shared balcony with room 202, (Great if going with children or another couple.) We had a lovely welcome with super friendly and helpful staff at reception, and all in all a wonderful place !

Room Tip: already in comments above

We came to this inn for our 3rd Anniversary. Me and my husband enjoyed our stay. It was just like the first time that we stayed here a few years ago. It's always clean, elegant, comfortable, friendly and peaceful. The outdoor heated pool is always something to look for when we come here. We definitely will be staying here again in the near future. Thank you for the great experience.

We spent three days here last summer. The setting is lovely, right in downtown Stowe. The property is rambling. Our room was New England cozy. It was a little small but very comfortable and relaxing.

The pool redevelopment area was just being finished when we were there. It's a beautiful facility.

Our only major issue was dining one night in the restaurant. We had terrible service from an ill-trained server, a rude hostess and a non-responsive manager. After raising the issue with the hotel management, they listened to us and promised to make changes. They made the situation right for us. However, anyone dining in the restaurant would be wise to hold them to a high standard. A first class hotel deserves a first class restaurant.

While resolving the restaurant issue took some time and effort on vacation, we are glad we stayed at the Green Mountain Inn. We look forward to returning one day soon.

When there are instances during our guests’ experiences that do not match their expectations, we can only hope that they will reach out to us immediately and allow us to correct or improve upon any issues that are at hand. Thank you for doing just that during your stay. I’m very pleased to know that staying at the Green Mountain Inn made a wonderful impression upon you and that you look forward to returning soon. In fact, there are some wonderful changes happening at The Whip Bar & Grill, and I’m excited to have you experience them soon! Thank you for your review.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Green Mountain Inn. They surpassed any expectations we could have had. What was so great about the Inn was that it had the quaint, small-town Vermont vibe of a Bed and Breakfast, but had high-end facilities of a modern hotel. We spent some time in the Spa, at their wonderful outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Their indoor spa facilities were also very modern and unbelievably clean.

The Inn went above and beyond in terms of service. We called a day before arriving to ask if our room had a refrigerator. They informed us that it didn't, but could installed one in the cabinets before we arrived. Additionally, we had requested a late check out since we would be spending Sunday skiing on the mountain and would like the chance to shower before a long drive back to Boston. Although they were unable to give us a later check out they made keys for us to access their spa facilities so we could shower before our trip home. These are just two small examples of their exemplary service.

I have no doubt that we will be making this into an annual weekend getaway.

Beautifully decorated rooms (deluxe rooms over the clubhouse are wonderful--quiet, with easy access to the hot tubs), lovely wine and cheese gatherings once a week, a terrific restaurant (The Whip Bar), and easy walking distance to other great restaurants and shops. It's the only place we'd consider staying in Stowe, and this was our eighth visit. A ten-minute drive (tops) gets you to the slopes for top-notch skiing. The heated outdoor pool, and indoor/outdoor hot tubs are perfect after a day on the slopes. The inn's personnel are cheerful and eager to help. It's one of our favourite places to go, a real home away from home.

Room Tip: Room 408 (luxury) is wonderful; 407 and others in the clubhouse (deluxe) are also beautiful, as are...
