Enjoyed a nice weekend lunch here with friends. Food and service were good, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it if you are in the area.

This rustic restaurant gave us a 20% discount since we had been to the Maritime Museum. The service was good, but I think we ordered the wrong thing. The BLT was not done. We would go again to see the planes land at the airport and try something else.

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your BLT, and wish you had let the staff know so they could have brought you another selection. It's nice that you are willing to come again, and we look forward to welcoming you back.

One of the cool things about this restaurant is if you are not staying at the resort, you can still dine there and arrive by plane on the grass strip, or by boat. Basin Harbor has added some really nice new docks though as the summer goes on, I am not sure our 35' boat will fit in as close to shore as they parked us on this visit.
We made reservations for 6:30 for a party of 8. We arrived at 6:00 and the hostess told us they would seat us at 6:30 (she was a little snotty about it). While waiting we stepped up and had a drink at the bar. They have a nice selection on tap. I enjoyed the Red Chair Ale and my son was pleased to find that they had Switchback's Connector IPA which he says is not always available in restaurants. While enjoying our drinks we watched as our table for 8 sat empty in the rather quiet restaurant. Promptly at 6:30 the hostess came and sat us.
My son had buffalo wings and a Caesar salad and he raved about both. I had the lobster roll and it was very over dressed and too spiced. I won't order it again should I go again this season. My mom had the BLT which she said was good. I don't remember what the rest of our party had.
By the time we left, the restaurant was very busy, Seemed like it would have helped them if we had been seated earlier but maybe it was a staffing issue.
Kudos to our waitress who was pregnant and due the following week. She was friendly and efficient and wasn't slowed down at all.

Thank Betsy W

The Red Mill is on the Basin Harbor Club property but is a favorite with the locals as well. This is casual dining in a very relaxed, well appointed atmosphere. Shorts are as appropriate as a dress/slacks. One order was the cheddar ale soup and order of wings - both a huge hit. The other order was the fish and chips and this was a little disappointing. The battered fish was a little soggy on the bottom side and the fries were ok. The portion size was lacking a bit for the $17 price. But - not a deterrent at all! This restaurant is absolutely on the must return list!

We're glad to know you enjoy the Red Mill. Cheddar ale soup and wings are long time favorites, as are the fish and chips. We're sorry the latter wasn't up to snuff, and hope you told your server about it. Thanks for your your recommendation!
