“Excellent food. A bit pricey.”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

We ate the cheese puffs and drank orange juice and coffee. The juice was hand squeezed and was good. The coffee was excellent and the puffs were divine. for $2.75, I think they could have served the OJ in larger cups.

“Everything it is said to be”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Excellent in all respects--- while crowded, they did the best they could to serve us; we had breakfast there and did a "take home pack" of pretty much one of each. Phenomenal--- we live about 1 hour and 30 mins away but we will be back, for sure. (While here, try the Shelburne Museum and the u-pick blueberry place down the road.)

Great coffee and delicious French pastries. Worth waiting for. Each cup of coffee is drawn with care, so just relax and wait your turn.

“Worst croissant and customer service ever!”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

When this bakery opened, I went in to get a loaf of bread. I was told there was no bread until 5 pm. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Then, a week ago I decided to go back and try it to see how their croissants were. After being in Paris, it would be nice to find a good croissant in VT. When I walked in no one even said hello or welcome. The owner (who is French) didn't even look at me or smile. Then the counter person just stood there and I ordered. No "thanks for coming in" or just "THANK YOU!!!!" They are looking for "intelligent" help. What about welcoming personable help? My local Ace Hardware is more friendly and helpful.

One of the comments on here said they "earned" the right to be pretentious! HA! That is a JOKE. The croissant was BURNT! It was doughy and heavy- more like a dinner roll. I would be ashamed to serve something like that.

I will never set foot in that place again and will be sure to let everyone know what you can expect by going there.

If you want a tasty croissant, try the O Bakery at Shelburne Farms. Delicious and they know what customer service is.

“Beyond the owners expectations.”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

Charming cute place. Last year it was possibly terrific. But a French Canadian reporter went there for a TV program that aired twice since the visit. With the result that a place that was supposed to be fairly quiet is now packed with visitors who seen that TV program. Good for the owners. But the result for customers is that you have to wait close to half an hour before being able to order and ending up with no inside place to sit.
Food is great and very delicious. But there is a big lack in the service(should have more employees) and they are running out of place. Don't go at lunch time. Go for an afternoon snack. It will be super. Seems that so many people want to know what this place look like that the owners were caught by surprise.
But this is not negative. Just that you have to pick the right time to go there. But in a whole, the food (baguette filled with almost anything you want) is super. It will probably calm down. They have great desserts and a huge variety of coffee.
Worths the visit, but avoid meals hours if possible. Everybody there is doing their best, except they were not prepared to "fame"...
