Loved this place! Our cottage overlooked the lake and the wedding arch and for 3 nights we relaxed and re-charged our batteries in the sanctuary of the beautiful surroundings, so much so that my husband actually struggled to sleep on the first night because it was SO quiet! The rooms do not have televisions and rightly so; this place is all about getting away from it all (but there are television lounges, a computer for guest use and free wifi throughout if required). On our first night we ate in the main dining room but chose the Red Mill restaurant for the rest of the stay and much preferred it - better value for money, nicer food and a better atmosphere. The only problem was that the road from our cottage to the restaurant was unlit and in complete darkness - it was lucky that we had a torch with us as we would have struggled without it (and we are in our twenties; older guests may prefer to call reception and make use of the complimentary shuttle service). We would happily stay here again.

Purchased voucher from Travel Zoo for two nights stay, 5 course dinner, breakfast buffet, and complimentary boat ride on Lake Champlain, my wife and I travelled from Ontario, Canada. The Harbor Club was unique and quit a ways drive off the beaten path. The studio cottage was dated with upgrades (had that old cottage smell) but view was very nice. Nocturnal wildlife within the cottage prevented a peaceful sleep. The food and service was good. Pricey getaway with service charges, even with a voucher.

Room Tip: • I was informed there are no TV’s in any cottages or rooms

My husband and I stayed at the Basin Harbor Club just days ofter they opened for the season. Before we even arrived I was impressed by their customer communication. After booking they sent two emails the first was to survey us to find out if there were any special touches we need like extra pillow etc and the second email was to let us know that they had a lot of flooding and that they had detours. It was very nice of them to communicate to us detour routes. While we were there they were still opening up many of their facilities, but we still found plenty to do. We tried Kayaking for the first time. We loved sitting on our porch and listen to the water lap the shore and at night since it was early May we still were able to light a fire in the fireplace in the living room of our cottage and watch the sunset and the lake. The cottage, White Caps and beautiful, roomy and it was very clean. It was wonderful to be able to park right next to the cottage. The grounds are very spread out so we ended up driving back and forth most of the time. Their restaurant in the main lodge for breakfast was wonderful (the sausage and bacon from the Durkin Farm is to die for, we actually went to their farm market and bought some to take home yum!!) and we got lunch from their pub restaurant, a little on the pricer side for sandwiches but they were delicious. My BLT had basil on it, it made a simple sandwich very good. We loved the colored chairs, I took many pictures of them and the large red chair by their Golf Pro Shop we so much fun. All of their staff were friendly and very helpful. My husband and I would love to return and spend some more relaxing time enjoying the lake and their beautiful property.

Room Tip: Ask for a cottage on the Lake.

Wow. This place is really unique. A fun camp-like lake resort with every kind of activity you can think of-- a kind of throwback family gathering place, with something for everyone-- from bingo for grandma to arts and crafts for the kids. We stayed in a cozy cabin, which was neat and clean, if not the most up-to-date space. We ate at an outdoor dining event and felt like we were at a wedding. Kind of strange, kind of fun. Clearly, families have been getting together here for generations. The main dining room requires jacket and tie, which, given the rustic nature of the place, is sort of odd, though it makes sense in a kitschy country club kind of way. Passing through, we only stayed for a night so this review couldn't possibly do the experience justice. Lovely spot.

Room Tip: Look at the website to get an idea of what it is and check for special rates. It is a little isolat...

My husband & I stayed last weeked at the BHC and had a delightfully relaxing experience. We found a deal online including breakfast and dinners, bottle of wine, bike rentals, etc. We were upgraded from a room in the Inn to a Cottage. You MUST get a cottage as it really adds to the experience. So charming, a working fireplace, views of the lake (not with all cottages but most!). The staff is fabulous - so warm and friendly.
The cabins: definitely rustic, not rough but not fancy. Just perfect! No TV but there is Wifi incase you need to remain plugged-in.
The property: As described, a sprawling estate with plenty to do for everyone! Tennis, a heated swimming pool, boats, etc.
The food: Exceptional. The breakfast buffet had the BEST huevos rancheros I've ever had and Himself LOVED the benedict. Dinners were fancy and multi-course. Really yummy too! The maple creme brulee and smores were outstanding!
We went off-season purposely: we didn't want it to be packed or full of kids. We would definitely return if we find another deal! Feel free to email me with questions!!

Room Tip: Be SURE to get a lake view cottage!

This was the best mini vacation we have ever taken. A one-night, two day package, 5 course dinner for two, full buffet breakfast for two and a terrific cruise on Lake Champlain. The beauty of the mountains, and the comfort at the Inn were magnificent. We would go back next year if this package is offered again, but stay 2 nights. The Inn was imacculate, the staff fantastic, and the food was 4 stars. We stayed in the Main Building. We would recommend this package to all. We found this package through Travel Zoo.

Room Tip: Have not seen the other rooms. Our view was overlooking Lake Champlain. King bed (2 twins together...
