My husband (a retired Veteran) and I were very lucky to have been able to accept the offer of a free night stay in honor of Veteran's Day. What a fabulous time we had! The Inn is just beautiful and the staff were exceptional...from our check in with Andrew, our welcome from Janice, to watching the chef prepare breakfast (which was simply delicious) to our housekeeper! We can't wait to make a return visit...hoping before next Veteran's Day. Thank you again for such a great visit!

PS The afternoon teas and appetizers are wonderful!

Room Tip: We only had the opportunity to see a few of the rooms, but every one was nicely sized, beautiful furniture, and very clean. I don't think you would be disappointed with any of them. Only one of the rooms have a TV.

We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the BnB for Vets package. It was truly an honor to have you visit and the least we can do to thank you for your service! We'll look forward to your next visit and hope you get to see the inn during another fabulous season!

My wife and I did a search and picked to this place on a "bed and brew" tour that they had available of the mad River Valley breweries. Our stay was very nice and the bedroom was great! The steam shower was a bonus, I was surprised that they didn't have a television in the room, but we brought our own iPads, and chose whatever movie we wanted on there free Wi-Fi service via our subscription to Netflix. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous and the service was excellent. We played pool in the game room, and the fridge was stocked with all the drinks we wanted. We made good friends with two other guests that went on our brewery tour and had a blast!

Wouldn't usually bother to review, but since I was encouraged by the Inn to do so.... (although from the invite, it was plain that anything negative should go direct to them! Well, it doesn't work that way, in this life, you have to accept the bad with the good.)
Stayed 3 nights in Oct, the Inn was full and had quite a few staff milling around. The welcome tour was basic, with no mention of their own barn... which I gather was either setting up for or hosting an art exhibition( only saw one staff member enter, no public. Assume pool was unavailable due to this.) Breakfasts, on previous stays have been outstanding, but this time were distinctly average with exceedingly laid back service. Worked out also, that one should get down early as you may only be left with draughty seats ( there seems to be an affinity with fresh cold morning country air with doors being left wide open at every opportunity ) The highlight of breakfast sadly, was the freshly pressed apple cider ( juice ). This however was not enough to justify the rates charged. Beverage facilities in the games room weren't replenished during our stay. As noted in other comments, the showers, whilst clean really could do with replacing, looking old and cosmetically affected by the water there. Memory foam mattresses/toppers, they're either your kind of thing or not. If you want to get in bed and stay like a corpse 'til morning, great. If want to move around a bit in the night, it's like being stuck in a marshmallow. Again, according to previous comment responses, alternatives can be supplied but this was never mentioned during our stay.
Bring earplugs as sound carries and you never know who you'll have in the next room - walls are paper thin.
Sadly the quickest service was at checkout. Left feeling disappointed. Shame that the feelings generated on 4 or 5 previous have been marred by this trip....

Guest feedback is one of the most important parts of our business. Throughout the stay we ask how our guests have slept, if there’s anything we can do to make them more comfortable, and so on. Not only do we ask for feedback during the stay, we email all guests asking them to share their experience on TripAdvisor. We include the manager’s email address and have received several personal emails from guests who want to say thank you and from guests who want to share some ideas and requests.

I am sorry to hear that the guests felt the breakfast room was drafty. When the weather is nice, especially in fall, we like to take advantage of the fresh air. We understand that one man’s light breeze can be another man's draft so we let guests know we can close the door at any time if it gets chilly. I also remember during this time we had some adventurous guests who wanted to eat on the patio, even on the cooler mornings.

Our historic round barn was built in 1910; and inn guests are always welcome to tour the barn anytime during their stay. There are restoration books in our library and we also provide history of the barn in each inn room guestbook. The art show that is held every year from the end of September to the beginning of October is free for inn guests. Many of our guests visited the art show which was being held during the time of this review and all guests are welcomed to visit it for free.

The post-and-beam woodwork on the second floor of the inn is original and was left exposed so guests can enjoy their beauty of the wood. The downside of the beams is that sounds can carry. Based on feedback from past guests we include two sets of ear plugs in the inn room amenity baskets so they’re available if they’re needed.

Thanks to the feedback from guests we also added a different topper to the beds in the room where they stayed. The guests who stayed in the room last evening told me at breakfast this morning “they loved” the new topper and want to get one for their bed at home.

We sincerely apologize that your expectations for this group trip weren’t met.

The setting was beautiful, and romantic. We enjoyed the grounds and walking around. Evening appetizers were delicious and a glass of wine was a great way to end the long drive. The room was very nice. Breakfast was AMAZING!!! Yep, that is 3 exclamation points. Overall, the staff was friendly and very helpful.

My complaint would be is that there was a wedding going on the night were were there. It took forever to find someone to check us in and get that task accomplished. Then late night they all came back from the post wedding party. We were both wide awake. If I was going to go again, I'd plan for a weekend without a wedding. Or make it my wedding :)

We're so happy you enjoyed the property and our breakfast! It's definitely a unique experience and one not to miss!

I'm also grateful you shared the feedback about being a guest during a wedding weekend. Our team strives to create the best possible experience for all our guests during every stay. If there's a weekend when there's an event that hasn't booked the whole inn we try to let our Inn Guests know before arrival that it's not a typical weekend. Our goal is to not have it be a surprise when the guest arrives. We also try and arrange the rooms so wedding guests are together in one area of the inn.

We would love to welcome you back for another visit or maybe even your wedding :-)!

My wife and I went here on a last-minute honeymoon. Frankly, it should have been our first choice. The inn is a quaint establishment - but with modern amenities - that is simply beautiful and peaceful. The staff is courteous and thoughtful, and works very hard to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. The morning breakfasts are lovely, and there is really no comparison to sipping Green Mountain coffee outside on the patio. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
