Warmth exuded from everywhere including the expert wait staff, the sommelier, and the roaring fire in the main dining room. The intriguing wine list showcased many pricey wines, but the sommelier asked about our preferences and price range and selected a luscious Burgundian-like 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape from the cellar. The innovative appetizers were exceptional especially the melt-in-your-mouth pear agnolotti in a pear butter sauce. Entrees were perfectly prepared and flavorful. Loved the duck. Chocolate cake topped with pistachio ice cream ended a perfect evening. The best in the Mad River Valley.

This wonderful restaurant (official name 275 Main, located inside the Pitcher Inn) in a quiet little village of Warren looks and tastes like an exquisite Manhattan restaurant (the latter obviously five times more expensive). The decor is very cozy, plenty of space around the tables and we never felt rushed (in fact, I don't know if they let the same table twice in one evening, so reservations are a must). The food and the service were excellent as well.

Overall, it is definitely worth the drive if you are anywhere in the area, but call ahead for a reservation.

We had dinner at, The Pitcher Inn, upon recommendation of our Innkeeper. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We were greeted by Ari (owner) and a complimentary beverage, Mason our waiter helped with suggestions. The Arugala salad was excellent as were the seared scallops, then onto the Duck and chicken, both cooked to perfection!

All that was left was dessert and that didn't disappoint either, excellent!

The atmosphere, wine list, food and staff were great, thanks Stephanie for making the reservation!

We ate al fresco on the patio at Tracks (downstairs from the main dining room). The setting next to the Mad River was pleasant and peaceful, and our hopes were raised after we enjoyed truly fabulous salads of lightly braised kale with toasted walnuts, golden raisins, and shaved pecorino dressed in a light lemon/olive oil dressing. Unfortunately, our main meals were disappointing -- we both ordered linguini with argulua and feta that was cooked nicely but had hardly any arugula or feta in it. While our lemon cheesecake dessert was good, it was nothing special, especially given the high price for it ($10). Toss in some uneven service (though with an apology later), and this was not quite as positive an experience as we might have expected.

We ate in the main restaurant, - 275 Main. The food was good, just in rather short supply! My husband had the gnocci as a main course and at most, there were 2/3 tablespoons of food in the bowl. My steak was well cooked but there were a lack of vegetables accompanying it. All very "Nouvelle Cuisine". When we got home, my husband raided the 'fridge for cheese and crackers. Given the price point we were expecting an upmarket, adult, fine dining experience and were disappointed to have a number of noisy children at adjacent tables. In summary, this place is expensive but the food is very tasty, flavourful and cooked to perfection - there was just not enough of it. The staff and service can not be faulted and had their been no children - it was past 8pm - the ambiance would have been great.
