The service and ambiance don't get better than this place. The Tracks pub is a fun, comfortable, family friendly location. However, the menu is pretty limited. The only fish is fried. Salads are ok. Steaks are decent but the portions are more like tapas. The Kale chips are award-worthy. Amazing wine menu - tons of selection in mid to upper-price range. Who doesn't want to eat in front of the fire on a comfy couch? Overall good, but please add some menu variety!

The main restaurant called 275 Main by the Inn has the best food and the best wine list of the valley. But this does not come cheaply.

The decor is soothing and might be called Vermont classi - white - wood - soft light.

The food follows no particular cusinje - but whatever it is it is always well done. Our grpoup of five all had different types of food and all came away remarking about the quality, taste and service connected to the restaurant.

I was looking at the wine list trying to recall a pinot noir that we had on a visit last June when Ari - the somnolier - said "i may be wrong but I think it was this one". And it was! He had cheated a bit and looked up a visit from 6 months ago but impressive. They take great care of the guests.

Probably not a great place for kids as dinner here takes some time - as it should.

We stopped in a few weeks ago and ate at the bar in Tracks. This review is for the pub only. We did not stay at the Pitcher Inn, although it looks really nice. Tracks is downstairs, below the Inn and 275 Main restaurant.

Pub has a small, 4 or 5 person bar (this is where we ate). The rest are small tables and a couple couches in front of a huge stone fireplace. The place has a nice mellow feel to it. We were waited on by two servers who seemed to be splitting time behind the bar. Both were very nice and service was good. They have a small beer selection on tap, but some interesting VT beers. The menu is different then the main restaurant, but the food was very good and reasonably priced. I really didn't understand the music they had on in the background. It sounded like jazz, but not one song in the 2 hours we were there was in English? It wasn't awful, but didn't seem to fit.

We would go back to Tracks, although it's not really the scene we would enjoy the most. We are from the north country and this place is not a "typical VT ski area" experience. It's more like NYC/NJ/Boston dropped into the middle of Nowhere, VT.

Warmth exuded from everywhere including the expert wait staff, the sommelier, and the roaring fire in the main dining room. The intriguing wine list showcased many pricey wines, but the sommelier asked about our preferences and price range and selected a luscious Burgundian-like 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape from the cellar. The innovative appetizers were exceptional especially the melt-in-your-mouth pear agnolotti in a pear butter sauce. Entrees were perfectly prepared and flavorful. Loved the duck. Chocolate cake topped with pistachio ice cream ended a perfect evening. The best in the Mad River Valley.

This wonderful restaurant (official name 275 Main, located inside the Pitcher Inn) in a quiet little village of Warren looks and tastes like an exquisite Manhattan restaurant (the latter obviously five times more expensive). The decor is very cozy, plenty of space around the tables and we never felt rushed (in fact, I don't know if they let the same table twice in one evening, so reservations are a must). The food and the service were excellent as well.

Overall, it is definitely worth the drive if you are anywhere in the area, but call ahead for a reservation.
