We have checked out the Clay Brook every year since it first opened with a view to buying a unit. Overall the Clay Brook's management is most businesslike and effective. Yes, the property is exceptionally well maintained, but the housekeeping seems haphazard and irregular. Half of the units allow pets, and the other "wing" is no pets. This policy is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and doesn't please either group. If you are on the no pet side, you still have to share the small elevators with pets, some of which are too bouncy and poorly trained. The food service in Timbers is excellent for specialty dinners, like the Wine Dinner, but poor to average for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner hours. Lee helped us with information about both rentals and purchases, and other staff people were equally pleasant and helpful. For a short one or two day stay it is ok. For a week, try the Pitcher Inn. Clay Brook does not rent long terms, like one or two months. In summary, Clay Brook is a mixed bag, so check out other TripAdvisor reviews before you book here.
