We had a wonderful time at the Sugartree Inn. Maxine and Graham were the most gracious hosts. The Inn is comfortable and homey. Not a bit stuffy. The bed in the Cardinal room was so comfy and well appointed. The breakfasts were just beautiful and delicious. It felt like we were welcomed as guests, not customers. True hospitality. We will visit again.

We stumbled upon this little inn while planning for a last minute MLK weekend ski trip and could not be happier!! In fact, we enjoyed the stay so much that we went straight back this year. Graham and Maxine are gracious hosts that keep the inn on the perfect balance of being homey yet still orderly. The breakfasts were so yummy and plentiful that they kept us on the slopes from 10am to 3pm without having to visit the overpriced lodge. There are always cookies and/or other baked goods waiting as we take our ski boots off after a full day.

There are many many books and dvds to choose from in the library. The couches and beds are so comfortable that I slept better there than at home. I really should ask them what they do with the beds... or just keep going back!

Sure, it may not have jetted hot tubs in every room but it's so nice to return to such a lovely place after a grueling day on the mountain, especially when it's less than a minute drive away!

First time in Vermont and we will never forget thanks to Maxine and Graham! From the great emails when we were booking our stay, with all ski, restaurants critics, directions, all info we needed, until the last minute when we said good bye, the experience has been nothing but delightful!! Coziest place ever, the fireplace lounge is wonderful while it is snowing outside. Rooms are charming, each one with its own personality. And you begin to dream with next day Maxine's breakfast when you find your card at your door! Thanks Maxine and Graham for your hospitality! Hope to see you very soon!

This was my third time visiting the Tree. Just as on the first visit years ago, you feel as if the Inn is a second home as soon as Graham and Maxine greet you. The breakfast is always out of this world, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the common areas are inviting and filled with a great selection of board games. Plus, the Inn is located just a couple minutes drive to the slopes. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by not staying here on your next trip to Sugarbush!

We stayed for three nights including Christmas. We are not typically B&B people, but we took a chance. The owners are terrific people, warm, friendly and inviting. It was like we knew them for years. Maxine seems to live to cook, and the result is some of the best breakfasts I have had in forever. Each night she puts out a menu of choices for a three course breakfast. You submit your selections, and the next morning you are treated to outstanding food.

Graham is the ultimate host. He goes out of his way to make the guests feel at home and comfortable. He is a very interesting individual, and easy to engage in conversation. He and Maxine make the place a delight. We were there during a period when the temperature outside was single digits. The building is a bit drafty, but they keep a fire going in the common area, and a pellet stove in the dining area. Our room was warm, and Graham went out of his way to make sure our heaters were working (one needed replacement, and he was immediately on it).

We were fortunate to be invited to join Graham and Maxine for Christmas dinner. Apparently this is an annual event where local inn keepers come to share Maxine's cooking and spend time together. Graham and Maxine made us feel welcome and a part of the family. The food was terrific - after Maxine toiled away all day cooking.

It rained before we arrived, so the snow was gone from the mountain and the skiing was pretty bad. Staying at the Sugartree Inn and getting to know Graham and Maxine rescued what would have been a disappointing vacation if we had been stuck in a sterile hotel. We had a terrific and memorable time.

The inn is on the access road to the ski resort. We drove to the mountain to ski, but it is actually a pretty easy walk (we did it just to get a little more exercise after a disappointing half day of skiing). The Inn has plenty of parking, and an outdoor hot tub. Truly a "Gem in Sugarbush"

Room Tip: We were in the Cardinal room, which has a great view of the ski resort.

This was an extremely comfortable B&B, especially cosy evenings in the lounge round the log fire. Maxine and Graham are interesting and welcoming hosts. The speciality of this B&B is the superb breakfast, produced on the Aga. For us, as Brits, it was home from home, but a great stay wherever you're from.

Maxine & Graham were so gracious in hosting us at the Sugartree while we were in Vermont for our wedding! We had a wonderful stay in the Goldfinch room - a beautiful suite on the 3rd floor. Everything was so perfect - Maxine makes an amazing breakfast & Graham's chats were priceless! The Sugartree is a jewel tucked right in at Sugarbush ski area...don't miss it!
