Great food. Great beer. Wish it were bigger and not so loud. We were seated within 15 minutes of our arrival, but there wasn't much room. I had the beef brisket sandwich. Super delicious! The blackened green beans were so good. Everything was excellent!

“Yummy, but....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Hubby and I really enjoyed this restaurant. They have a large local beer choice, which hubs appreciated. They even had local root beer! The hush puppies are very yummy. I had the craft Mac and cheese which was delish but so filling, I could not eat it all. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. However, my kids, especially the 11 yr old, just didn't care for the place. It is more grown up-ish for sure, with half the space serving as a bar (it was not rowdy or anything, just an adult atmosphere), the half for sitting down to eat. I would recommend this place to travelers with either older teenaged kids, or adults. While I thought there many great choices on the menu, not much appealed to the kids. This isn't the fault of the restaurant, they can serve what they want - just keep this in mind before you go. If you have kids, review the menu with them online before you go to make sure there is something they will eat.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

What a great spot! The food was delicious. We had pork rinds, hush puppies, kale salad, chopped pork, brisket, Brussels sprouts, collards, macaroni salad and cole slaw. The apps were hit the spot. These may have been the best hush puppies I've ever had in a restaurant. The pork and brisket were delicious. I love the NC BBQ sauce on the pork. The mac salad and cole slaw were just ok but overall, the meal, the service and the drink selections were fantastic. The place was packed but our server still took the time to make some suggestions and to chat with us (thanks John!) A couple we met on a trip to Venice, Italy recommended this place. So glad we listened!

“Great beer, Wine, and other alcohol list. Average food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

I dont feel the overall trip advisor rating is accurate for this place, unless it was referring to just the beer and alcohol selection, which is amazing. However, the food was only average and fairly expensive. Ordered dry rub wings which were less than average, the cheese burgers were tiny (my dad who is not a big eater had to order two). The arugula salad was pretty good though, and the duck fat fries were ok but overpriced. This place is basically a bar, with a very large selection of libations, and average food. The menu definitely did not reflect a BBQ place.

Furthermore, we came with a very large party and despite there being plenty of seating on a sunday afternoon, the hostess was snappy and unaccomodating. She was not friendly or helpful at all and seemed overwhelmed, but the other wait staff was pleasant.
