We stayed here for a weekend in January. Hotel is nice and location is awesome! It was very convenient being right in the mountain. We purchase our ski passes with the room and that was great as well. Room was clean and located right on the slopes. My only complaint was the bell service/ valley service was a little in organized. Also we couldn't find water anywhere for two nights. We had to go floor to floor and finally found water in the top floor vending machine but had to pay $3 per bottle! I did call down and the front desk actually hand delivered us water and ice but ofcourse we were charged $3 per bottle on our room. For the price we payed per night I feel like they should give a bottle of water per person in the room.

My wife and 2 kids (5 & 8) spent 6 days at the Grand Summit between 12/23 & 12/29/13. We had a really good time overall and the Grand Summit was a big part of it. We really enjoyed the proximity to the slopes although the ski school is on the other side of Mount Snow... only a 7 minutes walk. The personnel in the hotel was very pleasant and always smiling... room service, ski check, Harriman restaurant, reception. It was convenient to have the lift tickets available to us right from the reception. Our room was a studio. It worked very well for us... our two boys slept on the sofa bed, which by the way is OK for little children but would not be for adults. The little kitchen area was very convenient. The studio was facing the valley; I asked to get one facing the slopes but they were so booked during that time that it was not possible; the person at the reception was very helpful and nice. The outdoor pool was great; I went there 3 times with my boys and really enjoyed. My wife enjoyed the spa in the hotel. The hotel free valet service was very convenient... so nice to have them get your car when it's cold out there.
I would go back to Mount Snow and to the Grand Summit although it still makes it for an expensive week. I forgot to mention the included buffet breakfast; it was very convenient, very tasty with some slight very variation proposed everyday... we certainly enjoyed it before our day on the slopes. Thanks to everyone at the Grand Summit! Fabien

Room Tip: Our studio was located on the 3rd floor, facing the valley and the tubing area; it was great overall...

I love staying on the mountain for the convenience. We had a great experience on Jan. 1st through Jan. 3 2014. It snowed overnight into the next day and the skiing was great. The hotel was very accommodating re: cleaning cars off, walkways off, and general upkeep of hotel. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was very good, freshly prepared and nicely presented. THe room was a corner room with two queen/full beds and a nice bathroom with a terrace. It was a little tight for 4 people but worked fine for our purposes, no kitchen. All staff were very nice and very helpful. They check skis easily and take care of car with valet parking, everyone was great and helpful.

Room Tip: We liked a corner because there was no one on one side of us and sometimes our kids can get a little...

This hotel was accommodating. We arrived early, there was free valet. I forgot my phone in the car, and was able to retrieve it immediately. The bags were put on a carriage and we changed and got on the slopes. We came back from skiing after lunch, and were give the keys to our room. There is a convenient ski storage locker outside.
Best of all, they gave us a late check-out, which made our Sunday of skiing so much more relaxing, and it was great to shower before our drive home.
I will go back to them because of the service and all of their consideration.
The hot tub is good too.

It's an OK Hotel ,staff were friendly enough and the location is good.
I was surprised to find that the Hotel was supposedly completed in the 90's .My first impression was that it was 70's and in need of a good renovation.
Family loved the outside pool and Jacuzzi -considering it was 10f outside.
It is pricey and if you have to go to Mount Snow it's probably the best place to stay.
For me I'd find somewhere else in Vermont

A few friends and I recently stayed in a two Bedroom suite at the Grand Summit hotel. We had a mix of skiers from advanced to people skiing for their very first time. The hotel itself was excellent, very clean, and the staff was very friendly. They were quite accommodating in the Deli and the main restaurant (even without a reservation).

The one thing that made things a little difficult was how far it was from the learning center. We had two people doing the first and second day lessons, and they kept the rental equipment in between days. You should probably check them at the middle of the resort (by the waffle stand), instead of trying to get all the way back to the slope-side check in on the first floor of the hotel. I should note that it was early season and rainy, so there was some walking that needed to be done anyway.

Overall though the hotel was very good, the location was great for skiing, and the food in the Deli was GREAT.
