“THE must stay B&B in the Mt. Snow area of Vermont.”
Reviewed 10 November 2008

This was the third time my wife and I have stayed at the Snow Goose Inn in West Dover, VT. After discovering it four years ago, it has become our primary destination for those times that we can get away with each other, in this case for our anniversary. The owners Cyndee and Ron always go above and beyond to ensure their guests are taken care of, their hospitality is endless.

The accommodations are wonderful. One of the features that keeps us coming back is the real wood fire places in several of the rooms. While many other lodging locations offer a gas or electric fireplace, the atmosphere added by the true wood, is one of our favorite aspects.

Breakfast is included as part of your stay, and the excellent quality and service continues here. Ron and Cyndee are there to personally cater to anything you may need and the food is exceptional. My most recent meal consisted of French Toast made with Panini bread and of course their exceptional bacon, one of my favorite parts of the whole stay.

With such wonderful service and consideration for their guests, Cyndee and Ron will continue to draw my wife and I back time and again to Snow Goose.

The Snow Goose Inn in West Dover, VT was outstanding! We enjoyed every aspect of this location. The owners Cyndee and Ron are so welcoming and friendly, accommodating without being overbearing. Cyndee catered to our interests with perfect/spot-on suggestions for local attractions/places that we might be interested in. She was extremely knowledgeable of places to dine and sights to see. We enjoyed them all. We aren't even skiers, but we consider taking it up just to have a reason to go back there soon...The entrance to Mt. Snow is right up the street! Not to mention ride to the Inn is under 1 1/2hrs from Springfield, MA area! We Thank Ron and Cyndee for our PERFECT 10th Anniversary. Their kindness, hospitality and beautiful Inn far exceeded our expectations

What a wonderful stay we had at the Snow Goose Inn. Warm, comfortable, log fires in the bedrooms, lovely ambience and a most hospitable hostess. Cyndee was an excellent cook and breakfasts were superb. Everthing possible was done to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend The Snow Goose to anyone travelling in the area. You will not find a better place.

My family of four stayed at the Snow Goose Sept 26&27, 2008. We stayed in one of their family suites (1 King & 2 Twins). The accommodations were spacious and very clean. Cyndee was a wonderful host -- amazing breakfasts and very helpful directions for our fall foliage adventure. We were able to utilize the kitchen even after breakfast hours to get some muffins, sodas, and even a wine opener for a bottle of vermont wine we bought along our travels. What a great weekend away it was and we look forward to staying there again the next time we head up to Vermont.

  • Liked — the room was a great size and the inn owner was very friendly

Since 1996, I've owned and run a Vermont based luxury adventure touring company. I can't begin to count how many site inspections and stays I've had at inns and hotels all over New England, the Adirondacks and the Canadian Maritimes. I mention this because researching hotels and restaurants is a part of how I make my living.

My experience with the Snow Goose In has been exceptional and I have brought many, many guests here from various parts of the world. The Inns three great strengths are the rooms, the breakfasts and Cindy Frere.

The rooms we use at the inn have everything I like to see in a New England Inn. They're nicely but subtly decorated and most of them have their own decks with balconies, large spa tubs and true wood burning fireplaces. The latter is becoming rare in inns because of the obvious need for extra insurance as well as the extra cost of wood, maintenance, etc. That being the case, its really a pleasure to know that one can come to the Snow Goose and enjoy a true wood fire as well as a soak in the spa tub.

Some inns tend a bit too much towards doilies and an over-abundance of decoration and knick knacks. The Snow Goose isn't cluttered like that.

Many inns have gone to fixed breakfast menus or, even, continental breakfasts. Cindy's breakfast menu is fairly broad and delicious. She offers the kind of breakfasts that few us have the time or energy to make when we're home.

Finally, there is Cindy herself. I think she was born to be an innkeeper. She is gracious and friendly but also allows us plenty of privacy and time to ourselves. She also has always extended herself to our guests - helping them with special arrangements, throwing wet clothes in the drier for them on a rainy day, etc.

In a perfect world the Snow Goose would serve dinner as well as breakfast. Otherwise, it has been the perfect inn for my tours. We have the option to bring guests anywhere we want and the Snow Goose remains our first choice inn in this area.

Obviously, I highly recommend this inn.

Without a doubt, my recent three night stay at the Snow Goose Inn was among the best of my life. The inn is quaint and lovely. The rooms are delightful. The owners are a dream. And breakfast? Breakfast is PERFECT. Also, the location is central to many Vermont attractions. Or, if you prefer, you can just relax and hang out at the Inn. There are books on every shelf, a fabulous Vermont puzzle on the third floor, and gorgeous property to stroll upon... and did I mention that wine and hors d'oeuvres are served every late afternoon? Great service, great people, great everything!
