“Charming Hostess comfortable rooms.”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

We had a lakeview room and it was lovely it had Aircon and a small but serviceable bathroom. the common areas are very comfortable and Glenda is a hoot but get there quick she says she is retiring to Vegas! She recommended a fabulous eatery in the next town the Anchor which we loved. I understand that the rooms at the front are a bit blighted by traffic noise, but ours was lovely.

Room Tip: avoid the non lake view rooms if possible.

Went over the summer cos there was a good deal: 2 nights and one night free. Place is clean and comfortable, and the location is great. Right at the foot of the mountains, and good driving distance from Brattleboro, Williamstown, Bennington and other places. While the place has been "renovated," it is still a bit old fashioned to say the least. Bathrooms are very tiny; it will not suit anyone with any special needs; and in fact, if there are folks who need any kind of handicap access, this is not the place.

And there are some surprising lack of amenities: no TV in many rooms--while I understand that it is good intentiion not to have it, to encourage bonding, it is also a bit wierd. Having wi-fi was good at least.
Breakfast is standard continental; the hard boiled eggs were good but cold! All else was ok.

Glenda was friendly and had a lot of stories to tell. It would have been helpful to have some brochures and literature there....but there was little of that.

Room Tip: rooms facing the mountains

First of all, I'm surprised this place doesn't have a 4star rating overall. We visited last weekend (off-peak season) to admire the Vermont summer. We've been to Mt. Snow in the winters & in comparison the town was a ghost town. The Inn is simply beautiful, offering an instant warmth. But what truly made our visit special was Glenda. From the moment we got in, she attended to us personally, giving us that 'extra' something that memorable trips are made of.

We were visiting with our parents and got a suite overlooking Mt. Snow. Sprawling room with a fireplace & gorgeous views! Just perfect. Even the common areas are great-the deck outside, the dining area, pool table. Glenda even got us set for a family bonfire at night. It was amazing!

Here's more. We are all tea drinkers and asked her if we could make some at 8pm (we were carrying teabags and all...). Instead of pointing us to the machine, she got up & made 6cups of tea for us! Despite my protests, she refused to listen. I have seldom seen this level of hospitality before.
The only thing to bear in mind is that during off-peak season, only continental breakfast is served.

Off-peak season, the town of Dover doesn't offer much to do (unlike skiing season). Its peaceful though & the views are amazing. There's a refreshing short walk around the Inn (via the lake and up to Mt. snow). We visited a few neighboring towns-Bennington, Wilmington etc. we also took the skyline drive up to Mount Equinox. I recommend this 100%. There's a ~$20-30 fee per car to use the road but in fall, this drive will be the best you will ever take! We can't wait to come back in Oct.

I highly recommend this place & will visit again soon!

Pros: lovely view of Mount Snow, cozy common area, clean rooms, comfortable bed, cozy fireplace in our room, and Glenda was very nice.

I will add that we chose the Inn at Mount Snow for the last night of our mini-honeymoon road trip, seduced by the comparatively reasonable rates for the area, and the idea of the fireplace and jacuzzi. While all the rooms I saw were certainly clean and comfortable, I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for a honeymooning couple. The decor is a little bit dated, the jacuzzi is an older model and not super roomy, and the painting of 18th century children that graced our mantelpiece creeped me out a little! Only one other room was occupied when we stayed, and the quiet was a little unsettling - probably we're used to a slightly more bustling atmosphere and it was a rainy night in May. I would definitely, however, recommend the Inn at Mount Snow for groups or families as it's clean, cozy and comparatively budget-friendly, and seems convenient for skiing.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Close to the mountain. Reasonable prices. What more can you ask for? Common areas are very nice, and yes Glenda is lovely. :) Mt Snow is my favorite lower Vermont mountain and this Inn is perfect for the easy weekend getaway.

This was a last minute ski/boarding get away to Mt. Snow for the family over spring break. Booked suite11 with 2 queen beds so everyone had a good nights sleep. Check-in was a breeze and Glenda is a very gracious host. The room was perfect and very clean. Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast each morning with choice of eggs, 3 types of pancakes, bacon and hash browns along with the most delicious hot out of the oven scones. The chef Kenny made sure everything was prepared as ordered. On the first morning Glenda even offered to take a few scones for snacking later! The location of the Inn is great a quick 5 minute bus ride. During the week the bus comes every 30 minutes (15 on weekends) and it takes only a few minutes to get to base lodge. All in all this was a great get away at a very good price as the Inn was running a special for any room at 89/night. Also before we left for home on our last day after a full day of skiing we went back to the Inn to change and freshen up for the long ride home. We look forward to going back next year!
