As frequent visitors to this Inn, we were curious about staying here again with new owners. We had a lovely time as we plan a vacation before the start of a new school year (teachers). We were not disappointed. A wonderful stay!

Overall, we were impressed with the Deerhill Inn and had a really nice stay here. We ate in the dining room for both breakfast and dinner and both were excellent meals. The inn and common areas are very inviting. Our room (Evergreen Room) was clean and comfortable. A few minor issues: 1. The drain in our bathtub was very clogged up and so over the course of a normal shower, the tub filled up with about 4 inches of water. Not very pleasant. We did inform the innkeeper about this before we left and she promised that it would be fixed. 2. The balcony on our room (and most of the "Enhanced Rooms") is not private at all, but shared with all of the surrounding rooms with no partitions in between. The balcony doubles as a walkway that connects all of the rooms on the floor, and it overlooks the parking lot. We had no problem with this and still enjoyed sitting outdoors, but it could potentially be a bit misleading if you are expecting a private balcony. 3. The room prices on the inn's website are not correct when you click on the individual rooms for details. The prices listed on all the rooms are higher than the actual prices. Perhaps the inn recently came under new ownership and they cut their prices, but forgot to update them on the individual room pages?

To celebrate our anniversary, I selected this inn through Trip Advisor & also because it was listed under both Distinguished Inns of North America & Top 10 Inns. We had a charming room with a 4 poster canopy bed, flat screen TV, fireplace, robes, etc. We arrived to find 2 varieties of homemade cookies, wrapped in a little bag with a ribbon, in our room. Outside of our room was a long porch with wicker chairs & pretty hanging flowers. There was an attention to detail, demonstrating that the inn owners wanted this to be a superior experience. The night we stayed, there happened to be quite an intense storm. Well, the innkeepers had arranged to create a doorway from the outside porch (which had an overhang) with inside stairs so that you could go into the inn without getting wet! The inn also has a swimming pool, a library, & a large room where there are games & complimentary DVDs available. The friendly, personable innkeeper, Ariane (who has a British accent) told us the inn actually was within the Green Mountain National Forest. Dining also was fabulous with a chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu. Word to the wise though - if it makes any difference to you during the summer months, only 3 bedrooms have air conditioning. I selected one that did, & it also had a ceiling fan. I'd go back again!

We had such a relaxing weekend at the Deerhill Inn. Thank you, Ariane and Scott, for taking care of us for several days.
Tea - Upon our afternoon arrival we were treated to afternoon tea and a sophisticated array of baked goods - there were gooey dark chocolate brownies topped with marshmallow, white chocolate, dark chocolate and drizzled with fudge and peanut butter sauce. The Linzer tartlets were spectacular. They were made with a thick layer of raspberry filling. Absolutely scrumptious! There were more delicacies but these were two of my favorites.

Room - room decor was cozy, charming, and inviting. Very clean. We really appreciated the firmness of the mattress. The sheets felt great to slip into after a long soak in the tub. I care very much about linens. We use Frette at home and the sheets in our room felt like they could have been similar in quality. The bed was nice and lofty; I appreciated the footstool beneath the nightstand. Who cares about a footstool, right? Again, it's just the attention to detail we noticed. We like big lofty, prominent beds and sometimes they can be a challenge to climb into if you are petite, like me. There was a nice basket of L'Occitane bath products, which were generously replenished the next day, even though it would have been clear to housekeeping that we didn't go through our supply the previous day. There was even a little bag with a note that invited you to take the toiletries home with you. There was a generous bag of cookies alongside several bottles of water to greet you for the stay.

Service- Excellent. Scott and Ariane greeted us by name throughout the stay. We had an early dinner and Husband was hungry later in the evening; Ariane was so thoughtful to give us a plate of Linzer tarts to snack on while we sat on the porch to watch fireworks. We had a breathtaking view of the mountains during meals. You should reserve the tables near the picture windows ahead of time if you want the most unobstructed view. Scott and Ariane also know their birds. You can see many different species during the course of dinner. There are bird feeders at eye level so you can get a good look at them. Dinner was delicious. You have to order the muscles! Excellent! The produce is fresh and succulent. The meals were quite flavorful; your taste buds will be very happy!
There is so much more to say, but just know this- you will be well cared for during your stay!

My husband and I recently attended a wedding at the Deerhill Inn. From the get-go on a Friday afternoon, we were treated to warm hospitality, beautiful views, and a very friendly staff. Arianne and Scott, the proprietors, bent over backwards to make sure all our needs were met, as well as all the other guests that were attending the wedding that weekend. We were treated to a light buffet breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by a terrific "sandwich buffet" lunch sponsored by several of the grooms' sisters. Saturday night was the elegant dinner that included fish, filet mignon, and duck. Just delicious! Have I mentioned how accommodating and friendly the entire staff is (especially Arianne who happens to be British and knows proper etiquette). Sadly, Sunday morning came around but offered a fantastic sit-down breakfast. I even got my soft boiled eggs (why does no one know what soft boiled eggs are anymore?!) served in egg cups, and were actually shelled. How the heck did they do that? Go, go, go and stay at the Deerhill Inn. You will not be disappointed.

Really nice rooms, great common areas. Scott and Ariane are very warm and friendly innkeepers. The food is to die for. Breakfast is great and dinner is really special. Locally sourced foods prepared with a creative flair. This was our first visit and will be the first of many.

We have just had three really enjoyable nights at the Deerhill Inn. The Inn is clean with nice bedrooms, good beds and furnishings. The Inn has two comfortable lounges for the guests use, one being a TV lounge. The breakfast was very good always fresh , well presented and well cooked. Both Ariane and Scott were helpful, interesting and attentive without being intrusive. Good hosts. There was always constant hot coffee and tea available 24hrs a day along with the nice biscuits and cakes. Would recommend this Inn 100%.
