“We loved it”

We loved our stay at the Kitzhof. I actually go up to Vermont 5-6 times a ski season and always stay there. The British couple running the B&B really try to make you feel welcomed. My kids (age 11 & 14) love staying there and regard the Inn as if it were their home away from home. It is less than a mile from from the mountain, walking distance to a mini-mart and restaurant. And lets not forget the great hottub, full cooked breakfast and the cozy bedrooms. I have coming up to the Kitzhof for several years and always have a good experience. I recommend it to any of my friends that want to ski Mt Snow or visit Southern Vermont.

This place is a gem. . Inn keepers are friendly, and treat you like visiting family (that they are happy to see). The breakfast is hearty, served in a large dining room. The rooms are not fancy, but are sweet and clean. You cannot beat the price and overall value of this place. I had rented a seasonal house for years in Mount Snow area, and switched to staying at the Kitzhof the past four years as it is less costly, less hassle and still feels like your "home away from home". I've also recommended this inn to several friends who have never had a complaint - they too become usually become frequent guests.

Not our first stay at Kitzhof Inn but certainly our last. We were greeted with a less than welcoming, " your early". It was 12pm, but all we wanted was to be able to unload our baggage. Our room was ready and they "allowed" us to check in. As we were bringing our luggage in they commented how many bags we had. Apparently we brought too much for their satisfaction. For the record we had had 2 large and 2 small bags. A winter destination typically requires ski jackets, sweaters, long underwear, etc. This is not Key West where you only need a bathing suit and a tank top.

Do not plan on sleeping unless you bring headphones or earplugs. You can actually hear people unzipping their suitcase in the next room. The guests that stay at Kitzhof are not the problem. It's the walls. Also, the owners do not seem to appreciate how sound travels at 11:30 pm, apparently this is their time to let their hair down with no regard to the guests who need to sleep.

Breakfast: Don't bother. They just seem annoyed. OJ comes in a dixie cup and don't ask for more than 1 sausage.

Housekeeping: No fresh towels, no fresh plastic cups, no shampoo, trash not emptied etc.
Frankly, not sure what they did when they came in to make up the room.

Overall, its close to Mount Snow. And if thats really important stay here. But, if your looking for the bare minimum of service and a sliver of warmth and hospitality, there are better places to stay a half mile down the road. Maybe they were having a bad weekend, but, the entire staff seemed bored and bothered.

I stayed in this hotel on a ski trip. On the positive side, the inn has a character and has a nice atmosphere. A very serious drawback is that the walls are so thin that one can bear the neighbors on both side even when they talk very quietly. You can be also certain that their alarm clocks will wake you up multiple times.

The room service is also below average.

This place is a great value for the money. We had 12 people. One kids room with 2 twin beds and a bunk bed (4 kids). Two adult rooms with queen beds and a third adult room with 1 queen beds in it.

The inn is sort of like a bigger bed and breakfast. The rooms are smaller but clean. Bathrooms are very small but had everything we needed.

There was a hot tub that was great to use after skiing. Also a good sized lounge area with a larger TV and fireplace, and a refrigerator to store some beverages and snacks.

It was great to be able to put the kids to bed and hang out in the lounge area.

The place is very close to Mt. Snow, also. We took the Moover shuttle to the ski resort so we didn't have to drive.

All of our party thought this was a great little place for the price.

The Kitzhof is owned and run by Simon and Alison Ferris who do a great job making you feel at home in this mountain lodge. The breakfast offers a menu of items to select and was delicious. My wife had the blueberry pancakes, and I had the eggs with sausage. Both great. Our room was clean and cozy. Lots of groups stay here. The night we were here it was a Corvette club from Pennsylvania who took up the rest of the lodge, but as most club folks are, they were friendly.

Spent July 4th weekend with my riding group at the Kitzhof Inn and cannot say enough great things about the Inn. Summer in Vermont is a motorcyclists dream and Simon and Allison, both riders, are wonderfully welcoming to motorcycle groups. Our room rate per night was only $95.00 and included breakfast each morning and a fabulous dinner on Sunday night. The inn is in a log cabin style and the rooms were cozy and spotless. Simon and Allison were very attentive and they enthusiatically welcomed our group, even taking photos of us on our bikes to commemorate our trip. The inn is on Route 100, one the best motorcycling roads in Vermont. This is a must visit place for anyone who rides.
