The Windham hill Inn is our go to spot for relaxation and literally "heaven on earth"! From the impeccable rooms, to the five star restaurant, there is so much to savor when visiting this Inn. The grounds are extraordinary, there are several trails for running/walking. There is also a vegetable and herb garden from which the chef uses veggies for all of the entrees, talk about farm to table! When you stay there, eat there. Chef David is very talented and each menu item is delicatable! The Innkeeper Katja is kind, attentive and very detail oriented. She makes you feel like a part of the family with each visit. We highly recommend this Inn if staying in the southern VT area. A bit pricey, but WELL WORTH IT!

Room Tip: Stay in "THE BARN" for luxury suites!

My wife and I just returned from a two night stay at the Windham Hill Inn to celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary. I do not know where to start we arrived in the afternoon to be greeted by innkeeper Peggy and Katja (General Manager). Peggy showed us around the main Inn and then took us to our suite the North Loft in the White Barn. What a room, one of the nicest rooms that we have stayed in at a country Inn. View on three sides with a balcony the full length of the room overlooking a massive Willow tree and the meadow and the pool and gardens. Afternoon tea is served daily 1.30pm to 5pm with lovely scones and house made cookies, coffee, tea and the best iced tea you will ever try, made from herbs from their garden. At 5pm they offer to house guests a cheese platter of local cheeses to be enjoyed in the bar area. Dinner is nothing less than spectacular a four course meal served in the lovely dining room overlooking the pond at the rear of the Inn. We have stayed and eaten at many Relais & Chateaux properties but this dinner is really something not to be missed. In fact all of the meals that we had were great. We were concerned with the fact that this Inn is located a little off the beaten track but once we arrived we did not leave the property until it was time to go home. After a fantastic breakfast (smoked salmon/scrambled eggs and the best pancakes) we headed off through the woods to enjoy and rigorous 1.5 hour hike. The pool area is beautiful with view of the mountains and tennis courts. At lunch we ordered a cheese platter and iced tea and enjoyed them pool side.
This is truly a place to unplug, we did not open our mobiles once and the rooms do not have televisions but they do have some if you want to watch a DVD which they can provide from list that is in the room.
This is a great place and we will return this winter to enjoy some outside sports.

Thank you to Katja, Peggy, Donna, Amy, Lisa for a fantastic weekend. (to name just a few)

Just finished another in a long line of visits to the Windham Hill Inn. Left home with temps near 100 degrees and landed on top of beautiful Windham Hill. Spent two days enjoying the pool, wonderful food and wine and recharging our batteries. Just wonderful!!! Katja, Peggy, Dan and the entire staff are so welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. Hard to imagine a better place to stay! We are both already looking forward to our next visit

What a great place! If you want to have a very special Vermont weekend, this is the place to go.

Everyone connected with the Inn made our weekend special. Peggy was very helpful with the reservation and room recommendations. Deborah greeted us and helped us settle in. Katya helped us feel very welcome and showed us around. Amy assisted us during dinner with help from Viola (in training). George served us breakfast and several stories about the area. Everyone worked together as a team to deliver a great experience.

Both the dinner and breakfast were great. The dinner was the best we've ever had traveling in Vermont. Excellent wines - we had an outstanding Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc.

The grounds are beautiful! The herb and flower gardens draw you in and everything encourages you to walk around and connect with the Inn. Each herb bed was labelled and we spent 30 minutes just walking around checking it all out.

I can't say enough how impressed we were with Katya the Innkeeper. It's obvious that she takes great pride in every detail of the Inn and the needs of the guests. You're very lucky to have her as the face and brains behind The Windham Hill Inn.

Thank you!! We look forward to going back...

Having dined there several times over the years, my wife, houseguest and I looked forward to our dinner last night. As usual, the setting and gardens were magnificent. The $68 meal was, however, moderately uninteresting and somewhat disappointing. The "Cuban" flavored roast pork was overcooked and had no real flavor....a couple of refried beans does not make for a Cuban dish. The beef tenderloin was undercooked and tiny. Granted, it could have been sent back but it was too small to bother. So too, the beef tartare appetizer .... so small. Service was adequate, forced smile and all. All in all, not a bad meal but certainly not a dining experience to remember

First time for my husband and I to stay at Windham Hill this past week and we both give it a big two thumbs up! We enjoy staying at various Relais and Chateau Inns and were not disappointed with Windham Hill. In fact we were delighted with Innkeeper Catya's warm welcome to us and all her team as well. The afternoon scones were as fresh as could be, cheese platter delicious, and, actually, preparing my own Keurig cup of coffee whenever I want it, with the Vermont Mountain coffee, guarantees the freshest cup! A bucolic and cozy environment and we did feel like all details were taken care of. The pool overlooking the mountains was so beautiful. . . and the various hiking paths were pristinely taken care of. While the meal was not as delicious as some other Relaix and Chateau experiences we have had, the presentation was perfect, the staff absolutely great, and breakfast, quite beautiful and delicious. I'd go back for sure!

Room Tip: Staying in the Inn is cozy and quant with the restaurant just downstairs. But, if you want to be awa...

Due to the price point here, I agree with the average reviews. Natural setting is idyllic. Flowers, trees, gardens, views of the mountains.
For the price, however, it should be better. Rooms start around $350 a night and dinner is $70 per person for 4 courses.
Quality of the food is average at best. This includes not only dinner and breakfast but the cookies/scones, and cheese plate. Honestly, all of it was not fresh if not stale.
I also expect coffee service to be fresh brewed coffee, not a help yourself keurig. Yogurt at breakfast in store-bought cups? Granola stale?
As I said, for the cost, it should have the special touches and not just pretend like it does.
